It’s nice to see that at least the message board is unifying in disdain for the product on the ice instead of bickering about other things. Brilliant ploy by the team. “Maybe if they hate him, they won’t have time to hate each other.”
-
Maybe it’s the “culture” that’s holding them back?
-
More meaningful on-ice contributions from the guys with championship rings. JJ needs to step up the offense and Gardner needs to stay out of the damn box.
-
Clearly the NHL should go to 162 game seasons.
-
Didn’t Lee Goren play a game or two in the W and have to sit out his freshman season?
-
It almost like our fan base is suffering from from a lack of chemistry similar to the hockey team this year...

I’d be ok with changing the goal song at REA, but I’m also careful what I wish for when college kids are left to make decisions. Can we please go back to the Bruins discussion? Marchand for Hobey!
-
On the bright side we killed Gardner's penalty at the end of the game. Positive!
-
Yeah, our PK usually isn't a big steaming pile of garbage most years.
-
Now we are just being stupid.
-
Likely a little of both. They aren't scoring 5x5 either. Nine periods without a goal by a forward.
-
I sense some sarcasm, but this sure as heck isn't your father's UND team.
-
But....depth. Remember that talk? Code for zero bona fide offensive threats.

Goehring or no Goehring, I just don't see goaltending as the major issue given the lack of goal scoring and poor special teams play lately. That said, Karl leaving certainly could be a noticeable effect down the road, but right now it may be too early to tell the impact given Cam's a veteran.

Yep. Seems like we were a little less prepared for the early departures than in years past. The easy solution would be to over-recruit like some teams, but then we wouldn't be able to rip on them for it, so....

I'm very likely reading too much into this, but during his mid game interview, Wolanin made mention of Omaha being a hard working team "regardless of their skill level." That struck me as a bit condescending to Omaha, and made me wonder if there's some sort of belief that the boys can just show up and win on their perceived talent. That's certainly not the case with this team! Then again, I'm probably nitpicking, but I'm trying to understand why they seemed so...as Ben Holden put it...disinterested.

We seem to go though this every season. The staff tends to build from the net out, so we generally have issues scoring in the first half of the season. As the guys improve on and learn the details of the defensive side, they start to open it up a bit in the second half. It's a heck of a lot harder to fix a leaky defense and win games in February and March.

Oh God no!

How many more next gen record stats can we see for the huskies? They're 8-0-1 when Jim Rich mispronounces a name.
-
We aren't playing bad. Relax people.
-
The goal was legit....the penalty on Kiersted was a tad questionable.
-
Looks like he intentionally sauced and knocked down the puck in one motion to fake the pass to the middle before undressing the defender. Sick.

I've always seen our PP "struggles" as a result of the types of players we recruit. We've always had kids who are good to great two-way players...not the flashy ice-wipers who rack up points in the PP. Our PK is a direct beneficiary of that. Although we don't clip at a steady 30% on the PP, our PK is often a strength. Overall, our special teams grade out pretty well.

The way they start games it's every first intermission.

So if they salvage a tie tonight will they still have the annual players only meeting?
