IIRC, MN played early as the top seed at the X last year, but we played the late game in Cincy vs 1 seed Wisconsin. The eastern regionals both had the 1 seeds playing the early game. It's probably partially up to ESPN and who they want to televise on the networks vs streaming on ESPN3.

You do not have to leave between games, there is only one ticket for each daily session. Last year we were able to get scanned out, grab a bite to eat, then scan back in for the second game. I'm hoping their re-entry policy is the same this year.

The early semifinal slot is nicer in case, God forbid, we have to turn around and play a 3rd place game Saturday. This could be part of the "historically better" Saturday results for the Friday afternoon participants.

I like the early start. It believe they will have an early start on Regional weekend, so may as well get used to it.

Now I haven't watched a lot of games in the other conferences, but do the number of reviews the officials are doing seem excessive in comparison? It seems like overall we are seeing waaaayyy too many reviews. Maybe they're legit, or maybe the guys on the ice are using it as a crutch, and aren't being as sharp as they need to be on the ice. Call me synical, but sometimes I wonder if they are just going to the review so they can get their story in order for why they blew a call.
