Bob in Wisconsin Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 While watching high school hockey on FSN (Maple Grove vs. Blaine) they told the story of this 14 y/o hockey player who was diagnosed with leukemia over the holidays. He's a huge Sioux fan, and I haven't seen this posted anywhere yet, so I thought I'd post it here in case you want to send him an email or something. His birthday was yesterday. website http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/nickosseo11 email cl.cherekos@comcast.net Quote
cujo2 Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 absolutely awful to hear stories like that. Hopefully, it is a treatable form and this young man can go on and live a fruitful life. I am a parent of 5 and would shutter to think if I lost one of my children. Quote

diggin42 Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 A friend of mine has been involved in Osseo-Maple Grove youth hockey for years. Like all associations, they have their issues. But when the chips are down, it's good to see that hockey people rally together. Here is some more information on this courageous young man: http://omgha.pucksystems2.com/ Thanks for posting this, Bob. Quote
Old Time Hockey Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 I can only imagine.... Makes you realize how silly and petty we hockey rubes are in the grand scheme of things! Wish him nothing but the best! Quote
yababy8 Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 Maybe we should see if we can get a bounch of people to pitch in and set him up with a FTA satellite system so he can watch the Sioux play while he recovers. We could talk to the fella that does the Sioux systems in MSP that posts here all the time. I'd chip in?? Quote
