Added Lindberg.
Lindberg was 3rd on CC in points, 2nd highest TOI for forwards, and also led the team in +/-.

I wonder what the Lindberg jerseys will say on the nameplates next season?  Gavin and Garrett doesn't make it easy...can't just put 1st initial like the Schultz boys.

Three forwards and two defensemen to go for Chyz and Co.

Forwards (12 of 15):
SR - Menghini
JR - Croal, Lindberg, Swanson
SO - Josephson, Kernan, Reschny, Zakreski, Zellers
FR - A.Schultz, B.Schultz, Simpson

Defense (6 of 8):
SR -
JR - Boser, Emery
SO - Laurila, Verhoeff
FR - Lindberg, MacKenzie

Goalies (3 of 3):
SR - Sandy
JR -
SO - Spunar
FR - Heil

I do really like the Lindberg pick-up. Perfect 3rd line F on a Championship caliber team. There's more than a handful of perfect 3rd Line F's on a championship caliber team on next years roster. Which is incredible if some of those 3rd liners are on the 4th line, not so much if they are on your 2nd line.

What needs to happen? Minimum - 1 High-End F (Wiebusch, CHL first rounder), D - 1 of the remaining big 3 CHL, ideally you get 2 High-End F's, 1 remaining big 3 CHL Defenseman.

Welcome aboard Gavin Lindberg!
Great pickup for the staff...will be a JR.  Liked his game at CC.
Might get a little confusing with multiple Lindberg's and multiple Schultz's next season.  :)

I love this snag. He'll be a great 3rd/4th liner that will likely stay both years.  Right handed depth guy that is responsible defensively and can splash some offense in there. awesome

Spunar did his part and did really well.

Anytime a goalie gives up two or fewer in a playoff game, they did their job.  An offense that can't score more than two is usually in trouble.

Brad's article on Lindberg. First bros to play together at UND since the Poolman’s.
Also liked to read that Lindberg was CC’s most utilized forward on the PK. Will help replace James PK minutes.

Sounds like Kasper will be announced shortly to UND, at least thats what twitter thinks.  I'll wait around and see what Brad Schlossman Tyler Young reports.

He is coming

1. You know Schlossman is so mad that Young is scooping him… Especially when it comes at 2 am!

2. Magnussen and his girlfriend both followed UND hockey’s account since he entered the portal. I’ve been assuming he’s coming since then.

The other thing I didn't think about  until Schloss's article was Lindberg's penalty killing. I said earlier I felt like this was an upgrade from Littler, Klee and Andrew for a similar role (bottom 6 guy), but I hadn't thought about the fact that neither Littler or Klee kill penalties. Schloss said Lingberg was CC's top penalty killing minute eater at forward. It's so nice when you can use your bottom 6 to kill penalties and next year UND should have plenty of that with Lindberg, Croal, Zakreski (and Ollie if he's not in top 6).

How are they sitting for faceoff artists next year?   A big deal come playoffs

Reschny and Josephson were both around 55% as freshman, you'd imagine they'd improve quite a bit next year.  Kernan was a touch over 50%, so solid for a freshman.

Honestly Lindberg is a headscratcher he brings nothing to the table

He's not meant to be a top 6 player who tucks 15 goals. He's going to be a reliable bottom 6 who will understand his role. Good +/- and @SpudsSioux mentioned that he can kill penalties. 200-foot player who has 2 years experience and was one of CC's better players.

I'd say he brings a lot more to the table than this post did.

Imagine saying an NCHC underclassmen that had 21 points, was the top penalty killer for said team, and is a 2 way 6'1" two-way forward(+9) brings NOTHING to the table.

If you have 18 forwards who all believe they are top 6, you have no checking line. That was the problem that Woog and Lucia had. You can't build a roster with 25 1st round picks because you have no 3rd of 4th line or bottom 4 defense. Plus, you are seriously underrating Lindberg's ability. He will fit this team very well.

Could be worse. But it’s better to hold judgement.

What does Kasper bring to help improve us?

The beauty of this post is its self-contained definition of what it means to bring nothing to the table.

Other that a pushed-out-bottom-lip pout.

"It's obviously a dream come true," Lindberg said. "Having Garrett come in, too, it's really special for our family. We have a lot of family in the area, so it's going to be a great time."

Gavin and Garrett, who are three years apart in age, have never played together.

"It will be fun," Gavin said. "I don't really know what to think about it. It will be an adjustment for sure. But I'm really looking forward to it."

"I can be a reliable 200-foot player that can kill penalties," Lindberg said. "I think I can be a producer as well."

I remember when all the milk drinkers said Brock Nelson shouldn't be on the Olympic team for a role to kill penalties lol.

Nelson is way more than a penalty killer what?

A few anecdotes I compiled while satisfying my curiosity about Lindberg:

-21 points: CC was #9 in SOS, UND was #15; only 2 multi-point games, conversely only two series in which he did not register a point

-171/316 (54.1%) FO: settled into a role at wing, but has solid center experience

-44.3 in CHNs CHIP metric (FWIW): closest NCHC comp, Barrett Hall SCSU; closest UND comp, Mac Swanson

A good get, brings quite a bit to the table.

Miller was more of a why over Robinson and a couple others before Nelson was a question on that team
