Popular Post Johnny Five Posted 9 hours ago Popular Post Posted 9 hours ago Should be a great Frozen Four. UND-UW, as a Gopher fan I'd just like to see a meteor shower lol. UND has a better roster and should be favored, the wildcard in that crafty SOB behind the bench for Wisconsin. Perhaps offset however, but UNDs advantage in the pipes with Spunar. I'll take UND 4-2. DU-Michigan. When Michigan is going, they are electric and I'm not sure anyone can stop them, as evidenced by jumping on UMD. But then the Dogs turned the tables. UM will try to get up and down the ice, will be interesting to see how Carle combats that, because DU has the skill and grit to play whatever style is necessary. Stay out of the box and I like the Pioneers chances - I think this is an OT game and a toss up. My brain says DU because of street cred, my stomach says UM. UND - Michigan for the ship. Regardless, Frozen Fours don't grow on trees. Enjoy the ride, one hell of a turnaround by UND this season - forget that Michigan and UW didn't make the tournament last year either. Gives me a little hope for the Larson's squad next year at least. Good luck! 5 8 Quote

Their fans are passionate and most were friendly. Will always remember the night the dead badger was hidden in the rafters at the Old Ralph and when Sioux took a late lead the fishing line was pulled and the badger dropped down and hung right in front of the camera on live TV. Gotta respect fans that are willing to wear a dead animal on their heads. As a native Nodak who’s a life-long hockey fan and a near 40-year resident of Wisconsin, I love the UND/UW rivalry. And I can tell you that Buckey fans do too, though it has gathered dust in recent years. UW fans feel an intense rivalry with UMinn and UMich in other major sports, but they’ve sort of held a special place for the Nodak hockey rivalry. Maybe that’s becoming a thing of the past, but there are plenty of Wisconsin fans old enough to really look forward to this matchup in Vegas. It evokes so many great memoirs on both sides. The good guys in green gotta win, but I hope it’s a barn burner. A memory maker. 3 Quote

burd Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago There are probably enough games out there to have a UND/WI memory thread in the run-up to Vegas. Quote

I also remember a badger being snuck into the new ralph and it was hurdled over the glass in front of the student section during the national anthem. It hit the ref on the shoulder on its way to the ice and startled him of course. Good timing as it had to lay there until the anthem was done lol. i also recall a bloody one at the old ralph. Leaving a nice smear of red as it slid across the ice.. good times 1 Quote

Don't suppose the ESPN suits could gather those game highlights and broadcast them?... no McKenna, no Women's hoops, no Travis Roy (may he rest in peace) 2 Quote

GeauxSioux Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago I saw this over on CSNBBS... Interesting that UND won a championship every decade except the 70s. It is time for win in this decade. 2 Quote

SIOUXFAN97 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago i love carle's idea....if this was implemented....und would've could've had home best of 3 in first round of nchc, semi's at home the next weekend, the finals at home the next weekend....then round 1 of natty at home...then round 2 at home the next week ... then the ff at a neutral site. love it ....do it 3 Quote
SIOUXFAN97 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago another great idea would be to make vegas the permanent home for the final four and frozen four on hte same weekend...hockey at t mobile and bball at allegiant... frozen four 2 games on thursday...title game on saturday eve final four 2 games on friday...title on sunday eve (not at 9pm eastern tho) Quote

Not sure I'm a fan of that, but I guess it we are playing Thursday and Friday afternoons now. I for sure don't want to see round 1 one weekend and than wait for Round 2 until the next weekend. It is bad enough the way most conferences have done it with the Semifinals and Finals. One game a weekend is not enough and stretch's things out way too much. Quote

After the second week you’d put the Frozen Four in the middle of the week? Talk about no attendance. NCAA men’s BB has empty arenas during March Madness because of when the games are played. Again, the West should just bid their arenas. Quote

NDinCO Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Eagles are at the Sphere Fri the 10th. Just bought a ticket. Not cheap but everyone raves about the Sphere. They're also there on the 11th but we'll be, you know, busy. 1 Quote
burd Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Is it naive to think Jax will spend a little phone time with Sandy on how to crack Michigan’s nut, which the Dogs nearly did in the third period yesterday? And yeah, Wisconsin first, but the coaches will be as prepared as possible. Quote
