I despise the sit back neutral zone trap they often went to last night. Don’t find their brand of hockey that enjoyable when they are doing that. Now is it probably a smart system? Definitely, but not what I’d choose to watch night in and night out

Last night was one of the most entertaining games of the tournament so far.  Duluth won it off their forecheck.

id just as soon they’d lost, btw

8 big names and 4 potential great games today and tomorrow - all teams have won one some several - it will be fun to watch as long as Sioux win

Amazing that all the non-champion teams lost in round 1, leaving only previous winners in the national elite 8.

Put another way, the remaining 8 teams have won 41 national titles.

Blue bloods.

Penn State looked all flashy and skilly but no grit.  The Dogs out gritted them.  $700k didn't buy grit.

DiMarsico, Cerrato & Fink were all in a world of hurt at various points last night after UMD was finished with them. Would imagine they'll be physical against Michigan's forwards also.

Cornell won in 1970.

Wisconsin Michigan State really intrigues me. If State looks how they did for long stretches against UConn, I like Wisconsin's chances. But if this gets above 3 goals, I think State has it

If Wisconsin stays disciplined, I believe they win.

I just think State is a better team and has a better goalie.

Oh boy, again & again & again for each Michigan team. They had to have done some touchy-feely segment regarding the Kelly Green sometime right…… it is Jeremy Schaap after all

MSU/UW
DU/WMU
UMD/UM

Dang, I pretty much dislike all those teams.  Ha.
So, on one hand, it'll be nice to have three of them eliminated.  But then three remain.

UND just needs to take care of business and prevent any of them from winning the natty.

I don't know why people frame it this way. Yes they didn't win a title with him. But there is more to a program than just titles. Regular season success, selling tickets, program prestige, putting guys in NHL. Penn State is probably trying to make clear they are a serious hockey program despite the lack of history.

I doubt Penn State or Mckenna really cares they didn't win a title. Penn State gets the relevance and prestige from landing a top pick. He will forever be a "former Penn State player" who is in the NHL to Penn State. Mckenna got the money and probably won't care because he got to be at a big school, have fun, and then make the NHL.

Pegula spent that $750k, which is merely a rounding error to him. The Penn State University administration didn't take $750k out of their athletics budget to give to McKenna. Seems like a bunch of fans across the country (disproportionately Gophers fans) keep bringing up the money without the context. It's odd but whatever
