With bracket integrity it would have been #11 but instead we played #10 Michigan. @ND_Texan Except we were 6 and could not play #11 Omaha and Minnesota was #7 and could not play #10 Michigan so it was a pretty simple swap. I think they will honor that purpose UNLESS it results in a repeat of a first-round conference matchup. I'm good with that. Placing a host school at their regional site is pure bullsh*t and the best reason to do away with regional sites and go to home schools based on NPI rating (hopefully next year). I hope we avoid that bullsh*t this time around. Agreed on the host site and neutral sites just in general. But the NCAA has swapped within seeded bands for attendance before and will not blink twice before doing it again. Their double standard of keeping ore-determined neutral sites but sacrificing bracket integrity for attendance is a special level of audacity but too many coaches still oppose home sites. Quote

That’s fair, that’s my bad. But if you pay attention to the CHN and USCHO guys who have watched the committee for years, you’ll know that the committee will swap within bands to boost attendance. Which is simply crazy. Quote

The other thing that I have always questioned is they get so hung up on the 4 team bands. They will swap a 9 and 11 or 10 and 12 but would not dream of swapping a 12 and 13 who might be closer number wise than the other teams they are switching. Quote
