Speaking of Chaves.  It was nice to see him on the sideline, and saw President Armacost in the stands.

Armacost is a working man. That’s why we love ho

I can’t understand how posters recognize the poor play of Jerry and still blame the play calls.

Also can’t understand how some think Simon is so much worse than Jerry. He hits holes faster than Jerry and makes all sorts of better decisions.

The biggest difference : Simon will not lose a game with INTs

Early on Romfo called a great audible on pass and changed running play where he physically repositioned the blocker. We can listen to what his coaches and teammates say or we can listen to the handful of pissants, who if they even ever played the game (doubtful), never learned to appreciate their teammates especially the backups. He got to his reads quickly and got rid of the ball quickly. He completed 3 of 6 with 2 drops. He hasn’t played meaningful minutes at QB in over a year, but didn’t get rattled.
I hope Kaminski recovers quickly, and can play next week, but it’s good to know we have an experienced QB who his teammates and coaches have confidence in.  We moved the ball effectively at a crucial juncture in the game.  I don’t care who the QB is as long as they play well and do their part to lead this team to another win.

In mid season when 97 was complaining about Romfo getting any kind of snaps, I said I was OK with him getting a few because if push came to shove and Jerry goes down in a big game, I would feel more comfortable with Simon jumping in than JTJ based on only the little I had seen of JTJ. Simon came through today, and that is exactly why he's still on the roster, 97.

What we saw today was what we didnt expect...not saying a reason why but...

We saw a UND team barely winning...struggling....looked to be the old same...close game...lose in 4th...

Then a new QB came in...and took a drive or two but they then found a rhythm...looked like UND from first four games again

..took control and dominated.

It obvious you don’t.
We do know what you can do (repeatedly).

I would have thought you would have realized that a long time ago this nonsense shows a lack of FB knowledge and a lack of class. I would wonder if he stole your girlfriend but I can’t believe you’ve ever had one.

I was always on the fence on Simon(maybe more off the fence), but he came through when his number was called, credit to the young man.

It almost seemed like the play calling got better when he came in too.

JTJ seemed very inconsistent in just the little bit I saw him I saw him in game action, felt Simon could come in a situation exactly like this and drive the car to the finish line if needed.

I agree with most of this but would note the the playcalling looks better when the QB can execute the plan or make adjustments that work

Echo this 100%.. especially the part about hopefully Jerry is ok.. kid is super tough.

facts.. you would take the Jerry of the first 8 games over romfo.. and you would likely take last years romfo and today’s 4th Q romfo over Jerry’s last 4.5 games.

as a reminder.. romfo wasn’t great last year but he was still about 15th on the list of things wrong with the team.  With the massively improved defense.. kickers and total offense needs to get better.  It’s hard to keep an rpo QB healthy.. so you better have a couple and romfo could fit the bill for us..

@SIOUXFAN97 might not like it.. but schmidty was gushing about romfo in the post game and the kid deserves it.

also.. I think romfo was 4/8 passing with two bad drops.  And the defense. Wow.. and Z.. what a great story.

Most defenses want to entice the QB to audible, rather have QB decide over OC

Those first few audibles by Romfo made for a couple of easy pitch and catch plays.  Nothing fancy but he set us up for some important yards and first downs.

I agree with this, even prior to injury I would have preferred to see Simon in over JTJ in this kind of situation. JTJ was just flat inaccurate in the playtime he got during the season. Simon knows the offense and he did well in a high stress situation.

I think second half of the season Jerry might have been getting in his own head when it comes to reads. Saw that today where the run game just wasn't working. Simon comes in and is able to get movement with the run game. Could simply be that Jerry isn't reading correctly and getting the line on the same page.

I also wonder if they've fallen in love a bit too much going to the rpo with Jerry and are hamstringing the line a bit. RPO line has to worry about not getting downfield, whereas a dedicated run they can just put their nose down and bully the defense.
