Und Princess Thx. 101 writing tip You only need to spell out YSU the first time you use it. After that, just annotate YSU. Spelling YSU out every time defeats the purpose of using it. Have a marvelous day! 2 Quote

Who would have shown up yesterday to watch outdoor FB in that wind? Especially if you're sitting and watching for 3.5 hours. Me but my parents used to do that to me anyway when I was a child at the memorial. Quote

Dumps were/are the Metrodome, Univ S Dak dome football stadium (a real dive), and current Wis Badgers football stadium (old…). U of Wisconsin Camp Randall is old but not a dump, 80k+ fans every game prove it. Quote

Should have built a new Memorial stadium. Wasted a lot of money elsewhere. Quote

People I know, with a lot of money, can’t stand watching games at the Alerus. My opinion, but the attendance issues will continue. 2 Quote

Sioux94 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago September football in Grand Forks would definitely be better outside. But when get into November, and hopefully starting this year we are playing home games into December.......Alerus Center is a better home field advantage. 4 Quote
UND-FB-FAN Posted 15 hours ago Author Posted 15 hours ago There are definitely opportunities to improve the Alerus Center and the entertainment within it. The atmosphere would be better with these things, ranging from relatively small things including more end-zone seating to improved pre-game entrance videos, etc., to much larger, more expensive upgrades/renovations to allow for natural lighting or expand the end-zone space for additional seating. But the most important thing is the product on the field, which is certainly improving. Also, when the crowd is actually engaged and not sleeping, the noise level is very, very good in the Alerus Center; it gives UND an FCS championship-level home field advantage. See 2001 and 2003 in Divison II … or UND-NDSU games as recently as 2021 and 2023… Ultimately, need to keep winning, but the UND game day staff and the Alerus Center staff can also do their job to keep marketing and promoting the amenities and entertainment production also …get people engaged and keep them engaged. 1 1 Quote
Parkers Pros Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Lots of good stuff on here I agree with. If you want to keep people all game, the product has to be interesting. I very much agree we are moving in the right direction. I am excited about our trajectory. And we all have to remember this is year one. It should only get better. So let’s have a little patience, and try to stick it out even during the ugly games for the whole game to help these kids along. It’s a bad look recruiting wise if half the building leaves in the 3rd. And Coach said it, we need to get out of our seats on first and second down on defense. If we truly wanna have a dominant home-field advantage. They feed off our energy. So we need to help them with energy. 2 Quote

Yes, there are going to be some picture perfect fall days when you lament the game is inside, but in reality you'd only get 1 or 2 games like that every year in Grand Forks. Quote

None of the games have been close at half time so that plays a part. The Montana game last year at home lots of people still in the building at the end. Quote

Look at this year with home games on November 8 and 22nd - could be 50 degrees, could be 15 degrees and snow. Quote
