Seems that we are close to being a fairly complete team.  Plays being made from lots of spots and lots of contributors.  Still a ways to go to get there and plenty to clean up, but I like what I see for the most part.

UNI looked terrible.  What happened to that program?  Looking at their schedule, I'd be surprised if they won more than one more game.

Last years team started 4-1. 😉

objective.  just check rushing defense and 3rd down conversion.  no comparison between last year and this year.

Thank gosh.

That's an extremely low bar to pass - UND fired their coach for that performance.

Just pointing out even crappy team last year started out good including beating a team ranked higher than themselves at this point in the season.

A better comparison is will this team be better than the year before Bubba got fired (2023)?

Never knew you to be a pot stirrer, it's the first year under a new coach with several new assistant coaches. What would make you happy at the end of this year?

I never knew analyzing football seasons meant my emotional state was either happy or unhappy, nor "stirring the pot."

Edit: oh I get it now. Some are interpreting it as putting down this years team.... No, Im actually sticking up for last years team saying it wasn't as bad as some seem to believe.

Late season losses imo was because of a deflated "we missed the playoffs season" after a devastating OT loss. Despite showing very early signs of being a good football team...Just like individual games...4th quarters when losing teams naturally "give up" and finally score isnt always indicative. I know its cool to rag on teams and coaches when they're fired though. I get it.

Maybe I need to learn some things are just too nuanced for message board discussions! 😂

No way last year's team wins this game 35-7.

Does "make me happy" mean meeting or exceeding my personal expectations?

I'd would then answer "I would say a year similar to two years ago."

Why Cratter?

I would certainly expect them to perform higher than last year.

That was below their three year rolling average and yet was very recent.

See this is what im getting at...

They indeed did do that (more or less)

But at home was the only difference.

Yes yes we know Bubba sucked on the road. No argument there. It will always be his great unknown. He might have had the biggest points spread difference known to man - home vs away in FCS Football....but on average it equates to a three point swing.

Cover 15.5 please

Got us at Diamond Jo’s on way down at 14.5.  The added point didn’t  turn out to matter

small bet but was fun to cash it on way home

Some more "inside baseball" analytics from Cratter (previously posted):

Schmidt might have learned from Kaleb +

Schmidt use to playing in big time arenas +

New locker room gives this program a bump (see Alerus Center 1st year) +

First year of head coaches get bumps (see Hak & Brad B) +

This year of any year has all the making of being one of the best.***

How far is yet to be determined....

These are quick bulletin points for a message board and may seem inconsequential but are studied in program renewal effects/sports psychology.

I could divulge deeper into the short vs long term vs how many wins on average. But thats too nuanced...so instead:

"Moo U sucks we gona kyck there but"

(***Thats of course if we continue to ignore the kicker situation which UND will need when the opponents start to get tougher.)

Genuine question. What's the obsession with hating Romfo?
