Someone mentioned that if UND hockey were on ESPN, the program/league wouldn't make money. I believe that is true. I get ESPN/HULU/Disney for free with DirecTV, and I can watch a ton of hockey. I also have FloSports so that I can watch even more hockey. I wonder how much those leagues get for how watered down they are? I think NCHC.TV still has bad broadcasts, but even CC has improved this season. Now, if Western, Omaha, and Miami can improve their bad webcasts. One night earlier this hockey season, I asked Alex Heinert if Midco Sports would ever take over the NCHC.TV, and he didn't think so. I do like how CCHA is run, and when they produce broadcasts, they're very good. Honestly, the league is making money off NCHC.TV and I don't see them changing things up. I just wish they'd put their app on Google so we can watch league games on the smart TV without having to use a Roku.

Went to the college hockey tab on ESPN+ last night and all of the games started at the same time. Getting NCHC would give them more asynchronous hockey, and some name brands to counter the Big Ten (ESPN is SEC). College hockey is niche and all, but ESPN went all in on the sport.

ESPN showing the MSU and BU game along with the PC vs BC last night is encouraging. They are slowly showing more of a commitment to hockey in general it seems.

The CHL opening is good as well. Majority of the best players in North America will all be playing in the NCAA now so more stars to market + can market it to NHL fans that want to watch their prospects. In the case where you live out of market from your NHL team you can watch NHL and college all on 1 app which is super convenient as well.

UND would still get their TV money from Midco so from how I see it they aren’t as dependent on the NCHC tv money as other teams in the conference may be.

Penn State is getting more viewers with McKenna for sure. DuPont could do the same for us.

So far we are doing well with the CHL, the non-blue chippers and big names alike are exceeding expectations. Building that early recruiting advantage should make the next few years exciting.

A little disappointing that Weems and co with the NCHC weren't able to figure out a TV deal for at least a part of the playoffs. (unless we have some late breaking news upcoming)

For as much as this conference has had success you need to have a TV deal to showcase your big games come playoff time. I get they were losing some money with CBS but the lost money is well worth if you try and get 1 semi final game on TV along with the championship. Big miss IMO.

Everything is on NCHC.tv

For the first time, the entire NCHC Frozen Faceoff can be seen on NCHC.tv. All three rounds, from the quarterfinals to the champion crowned, will be available on the official streaming platform of the Conference. NCHC.tv is available on Roku, AppleTV and Amazon Firestick, as well as on mobile apps, a tablet and a browser. Select local and regional TV stations may also air some Frozen Faceoff games. Televised games will be listed here if/when finalized.

For those without an NCHC.tv subscription, the NCHC Playoff Pass is available for $39.95 and grants access to all games/rounds of the Frozen Faceoff, plus the final weekend of the regular season.

(clarifying for locals that have Midco)

I'd assume it will be on Midco for for any game that UND is hosting at the Ralph

That's the point I was trying to make earlier.

This is what ESPN will have on their programming making us miss UND's regional game in this year's NCAA's.
