TwamleyShuffle Posted Monday at 12:30 AM Posted Monday at 12:30 AM Even though we aren’t playing next week, will be nice slate of NCHC hockey. WMU game at 6:00 pm and DU vs UMD at 8:00 pm. Me likes it when I get to watch multiple games 1 Quote

.357 Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Dartmouth may not even make the national tourney the way they're tailing off, but can imagine PSU's reaction getting stuck in the same region (Loveland) as WMU & Denver. Good times. 3 Quote

One of my favorite road trips was last year to Kalamazoo. At my own peril, I walked over to the outside door where the Lawson Lunatics stand in line to get in a few hours before the game and chatted it up with a bunch of Broncos fans. I was wearing my UND jersey. They all hazed me pretty good but it was all in good fun. Went to the Library Kitchen & Taphouse Friday night and met some cool UND and Western fans. 2 Quote

If we meet, I would gladly buy you a beer. Quote

Gopher hockey is an afterthought for revenue sharing and their collective is virtually nonexistent. Nick Angell basically insinuated on that podcast that Minnesota's hockey NIL collective just wants to follow all of the rules and not do whatever it takes to pay guys. That's going to hurt their ability to pay higher profile recruits even a moderate amount, especially Canadians. So the Gophers haven't been creative with either their recruiting or their NIL. No surprise they're 41st in the NPI Quote

No surprise they're 41st in the NPI I think they are using that as an excuse. Dinkytown Athletics pays plenty of money to football and basketball. For whatever reason, donors do not seem to dish out significant money to their hockey program. Creating a separate collective is great in theory, but they still have to convince donors to donate. He is taking the moral high ground and using it as an excuse, in my opinion. I doubt high end players care so much about their eligibility. If McKenna, Martone, etc. were deemed ineligible, they would just sign their ELCs and move on. That’s also if the NCAA wins the case, which they won’t. Also, if and when Motzko gets another year, he’s going to want to put all of his cards on the table. One more year like this and he’s out. If they have the money, they will spend it. 1 Quote
