We don't have the same talent as other teams that are D1 in our area. Demers is overrated and if that's supposed to be our best player, that explains a lot. 1 Quote
ND-fan Posted November 20 Author Posted November 20 The top DI talent is in freshmen and sophomores on this team but none of these players have much playing time teams they. Have been playing all have experienced lineups so we are going to look overmatched. Hutter didn’t bring many experienced transfers which many on here think that is way to go it may be future of recruiting but I don’t think so in lower mid majors. We don’t have NIL money to bring in the talent to play here. We need to develop talent from high school level and have enough money in our NIL money to retain most of talent we develop and want to be here. The comment on being on social media to much is cheap shot and goes against what head coaches job today in college basketball coaches need to promote and have presence in area to create interest and help in recruiting. This is going to be long year for us Sutter job is to develop these young players and yes we’re going to look bad but upper class players here are just average at best players and most of them undersized each of them are here to finish careers and help teach work ethic and competitiveness playing basketball all of them have shown that in their careers. I just hope we develop enough by end of season we have beginnings of pieces to develop competitive team in next year and future years but their a lot ifs in that because we’re dealing a lot young players and nobody knows how progression of these players turnout. 1 Quote
MoSiouxFan Posted November 21 Posted November 21 Nice. Defense and rebounding. Still have to cut down on the TO's. 1 Quote
EternalOptimist Posted November 21 Posted November 21 Good to get that 1st win. I think the secret is to play all our games during the day with the high pitched piercing screams of elementary kids. It's fun, but it's a different kind of loud. 2 Quote
ND-fan Posted November 21 Author Posted November 21 Much better effort today better defense and better shot selection. They matched up much better with Wyoming in size today than previous matchups. Also Ava Miller gave them much more presence down low today. Hutter had Hughes play more minutes to set offense and defense for the team. The true freshmen are showing flashes of Their ability they are learning but still a lot of growth yet needed in these players. This still needed win and gives these girls some confidence going forward but they to continue to have success if they play defense, rebound, shoot good from free throw line and finally control the basketball by cutting down on turnovers. If they do that consistently they will be most ball games. 1 Quote

coachdags Posted November 21 Posted November 21 Saw moments of Good Basketball today from the jump. My opinion was the presence of Mikayla Aumer in the starting 5. They closed out on shooters and played hard. Still had 19 Turnovers, but only gave away 13 points. Hit the boards hard and controlled inside the paint. Also helped Wyoming Best Player was 1-10 from field, but Walker had something to do with that. Hopefully the trend continues, I was not impressed by Wyoming at all from a 22-12 Team last year from MWC. 2 2 Quote

I can only imagine. 😂 One of the time I'm thankful for the background noise filter on television. But seriously though, super fun for the kids and the team. It's a win-win experience for both! 1 Quote

Good first half. Too many untimely turnovers early. We need shooting bad. 0-18 from behind the arc today. They are a good shooting team. I was impressed with the team defense though. I think we are in good hands with Coach Hutter. Happy Thanksgiving to you all! 2 Quote
EternalOptimist Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Tough to win with 23 turnovers and 0-18 from 3. Quote

The 10 players who left the program in 2024 left Mallory, Hutter, and Teammates. They all should shoulder some accountability. Some of these recruits, i'm sure he had a hand in, with 10 leaving, the team now is almost all his accomplishments and work. It is my opinion that we need someone with a D1 pedigree if we are serious about women's Basketball. The AD has yet to hire that person in his last 2 attempts. I do not believe we are currently a top 300 Team? (357 plays). A glaring Stat last year we ranked 339 in assist-to-turnover ratio, with 580 TO to 298 Assist. Should be a focus? We just had another 26 TO to 8 assists game with Green Bay. I'm losing confidence we will ever get there. und women's basketball has been a TO machine since the little ginger left over ten years ago.... 1 Quote
