forksandspoons Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Guess it probably won’t happen at this point, but if they can get Ibrahim - the second best player on last year’s team behind Pemberton - back, that’d be huge. She was pretty efficient on the offensive side and obviously a beast defensively. Mathern showed flashes defensively and has good size at G. Hope she can continue to get comfortable and add some offense. Aumer and Demers definitely seem to have the leadership qualities needed to get this team through this. Both need to limit their turnovers and I hope Demers can stay on the floor more next season. IMO when you’re going through something like this, becoming the best defensive team you can possibly be can turn things around very quickly. The scoring is obviously going to be a major concern. Excited to see who Hutter brings in and for the new era! 3 Quote
Kab Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Should be a policy on introducing all new head coaches each deserves an introduction and all available coaches of any sport should attend was bubba there yesterday ? 2 Quote
ND-fan Posted April 8 Author Posted April 8 I can’t resist Forum guys(Izzo and Kolpack) already talking how they are going to be team that dethrones South Dakota State for next year with addition of Schiller and keeping of Koenen. They look like they could be greatly improved but my gut feeling is let’s see how this plays out. I still think team chemistry is going to play in this before next season there are some awfull big egos on this team and team Fargo is going to play up some these players see how this plays out with the rest of the team. If Jory can hold it together it may mean his break to move on to bigger program but it could get to be rocky if he can’t. They are still at least one or two players away from being dominant t they need big girl inside and three that can score in transition which you only get by developing player. Maybe I am just wishing but this past year and year before SU starts off looking strong but they fade as season goes along and I bet this happens this coming year again they become predictable and always look to their key players. If they make next step Jory going to need to get more creative with his teams. Quote
NDRoots4Life Posted April 8 Posted April 8 Another post by Hutter that I'm reading between the lines. Talking about players needing to have a "team first, coachable attitude". I'm thinking he's definitely not missing some of the women who left. Quote
gfNDfan Posted April 8 Posted April 8 I think he will be a breath of fresh air and sensibility for UND - you don't need to go to the ends of the earth to find players - you need players who can play together. Not the nuttiest concept in the world! 3 Quote

Popular Post NewUndFan Posted Wednesday at 07:31 PM Popular Post Posted Wednesday at 07:31 PM Listening to Coach Hutter's press conference really got me pumped. I really like what he said and i think he was the right choice. I never got that same feeling from when I listened to Mal speak. What really surprised me was that Chaves said he was surprised and caught off guard when Mal said she was stepping down. He really is that far removed from the program?? That 8 girls had put their names in the portal and he thought business as usual? He should have been the one letting her go. I guess we can thank Mal for stepping down and knowing when she had lost the ship. 2 3 Quote

DL Sioux Posted Wednesday at 08:12 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:12 PM I was happy to hear that Mal endorsed Hutter. His positive attitude is refreshing, but we will see where it gets us in the next couple of years! 2 Quote

I guess we can thank Mal for stepping down and knowing when she had lost the ship. However, according to what has been shared, it did all go down in 24 hours correct. Most the players put their names in the portal (supposedly a day after telling Mal to her face they weren't) and the next day she stepped down, so it really couldn't have gone much faster. Quote

Where exactly was the part that he was supposed to be able to predict the things mentioned above happened within a few hour window? There was not an indication from the players that there was going to be an exodus. They definitely didn't let anyone on to what was going to happen. And the coach was still under contract. Unfortunate turn of events that was not foreseen. They moved quickly, looks like a quality replacement is in place and everyone has a good outlook going forward. For those wondering why the press conference was not done as quick as others, Hutter was immediately on the road and working on solving the roster issue, so some time was requested in order to take care of that part of things first. 1 2 Quote
Popular Post forksandspoons Posted Wednesday at 08:49 PM Popular Post Posted Wednesday at 08:49 PM “This is not going to be a rebuild. I am not interested in a rebuild.” - Hutter Said all the right things in the presser and had me fired up! He’s an intense guy 6 Quote
Kab Posted Wednesday at 09:08 PM Posted Wednesday at 09:08 PM Was a good press conference today, I like his demeanor and how he is in support of players that stayed and they will be coached up. gave a positive nod to all his assistants too. i watched Schmidt football interview today and that has me looking forward to the season too. 1 Quote
