This hire probably gives him the best chance to stick around since Jax will be able to retain more than the other finalists with a better chance to be good in year 1. Regardless if Jackson works out, Chaves has got to go. Our programs have never been such a dumpster fire. 3 Quote

Agree. If they are going to keep the HC in house, bring in at least one successful outside assistant that will offer a different perspective that won’t be a yes man. Herter has been around enough to know what works and what doesn’t. If he ultimately wants to be a HC himself, it ain’t happening at Western anytime soon. 1 1 Quote
siouxweet Posted Sunday at 03:17 AM Posted Sunday at 03:17 AM Here is hoping for the best with Jackson. Wasn't my choice but what are we going to do hope he fails so we can say told you so. Let's get things going in the right direction and hopefully we will be back fighting for the top spot in the nation sooner rather than later. 1 Quote
Popular Post stoneySIOUX Posted Sunday at 03:18 AM Popular Post Posted Sunday at 03:18 AM My wants, hopes for next steps... My guess/hopes.... KG to the NHL, Keep simmer and bring in St. Clair. Add one more seasoned assistant. FIRST HIRE... Chyz in as a GM. Would be that huge flex that gets people talking about UND instantly. Makes UND feel more NHL-like to recruits. 7 Quote

Hopefully Simpson knows how to recruit, especially the elite top end guys. He's Canadian, his dad is one of the most recognizable hockey color commentators in North America and is connected to most notable hockey people in Canada. Use these connections to land some elite CHLers. Or he gets axed and we get a whole new staff of assistants. Quote

siouxweet Posted Sunday at 03:20 AM Posted Sunday at 03:20 AM Someone mentioned in the other thread that if Jackson gets it he will need to clean house. Hoping that is true. Would Herter even wantt to make a lateral move as an assistant and come here? 1 Quote

Otherwise, at the end of the day, we might as well have kept Berry. Quote

Yeah, one thing this hire does is keep the pressure squarely on the administration, because there will not be a grace period by the fans, that might have happened under new leadership. I expect hit the ground running, being that there won’t be a transition period. Quote

Gotta leverage the connection with James Patrick (Victoria Royals head coach) to get some high end Dub guys. Cole Reschny is the likely 2025 1st rounder on the Royals I'd really want. Hopefully Dane has Patrick's number. 4 1 Quote
