yzerman19 Posted Friday at 04:57 PM Posted Friday at 04:57 PM i wonder if Jeffrey Epstein has been involved in any of this...lol...gotta make some light of the craziness that only a fan board for this team can create...of which I am a part...good, bad, sober, drunk and everything in between : ) 1 Quote
yzerman19 Posted Friday at 04:59 PM Posted Friday at 04:59 PM the interesting part of the hiring committee was the 06-10 chippaz. Let me tell you what they had to say LOL : ) Quote

His letter was fantastic and classy IMHO. He will receive the same treatment that Blais and Hak receive when they show him on the big board at the Ralph. 100% on everything. The one thing that I think hurt Berry was his trust in certain players also being high character individuals. Jammer was Berry's guy and if what is being said about Jammer is true, he really let Berry down. 3 Quote

Had they just elevated Jackson without a search it would have opened up more negativity from many fans. At least this way UND can say they evaluated the available and interested candidates and have determined Jackson is the best choice. Now, that won't eliminate negative feedback, but it will help minimize it, and it's the right thing for the University to do for Jackson. There might have been more interest candidates had they not had such a short posting time and not right before the national tournament. 2 Quote

90siouxfan Posted Friday at 05:18 PM Posted Friday at 05:18 PM mindless dribble is the phrase for the day, should be the replacement for "interwebs" in the comical inclined. Quote
siouxweet Posted Friday at 05:22 PM Posted Friday at 05:22 PM So these "interviews" Chaves is supposedly conducting today are along the lines of what the New England Patriots did in January interviewing Pep Hamilton and Byron Leftwich to circumvent the Rooney Rule. In other words these dudes had no shot at getting hired. 1 Quote

Most of you will bitch and moan about it but give the guy a chance. He's paid his dues, could've left multiple times. I really hope so - for some it is hard to reconcile Dane's participation in what ever the hell we saw this season with how he would do things as a Head Coach. As a group the forwards were among the worst I have seen in a long time. If he's the coach and they come out playing hard and fast we are back on track. However, if we see the passing, intensity, and game efforts we saw this year we are in big trouble. Sounds like you are confident it will be the former. 1 Quote

Naming one or two but not all would be perceived as a slight as well. When I read the letter my take was that the "too many to name" comment was in reference to the "Ralph Engelstad staff/employees". Given how long the letter was and how many other people were named specifically, it does seem odd that the associate/assistant coaches were not mentioned, or even Poolman for that matter. Someone else had mentioned that the Dane/Brad relationship was all hunky-dory initially but that it soured over time. I also had heard that Brad had started limiting Dane's voice and influence with the players and that Dane also wanted to handle the most significant locker room issue thing differently but obviously Brad had final say there. I'm not trying to trash Brad at all as he is a genuine guy and I have no doubts that he did everything with the intent that it be for the best of the program, but perhaps his big heart and softer nature clouded his judgement a bit. I don't know who'd be the best next coach either. My first choice wasn't going to be Dane and thought a fresh start would be good, but how in the world do any of us really know what'd be best? Perhaps we shouldn't hold some of his coaching responsibilities and the results of them against him just based on this past year. We have had good forward groups in the past, and a solid PK. This year was a dud sure, but if he becomes HC and brings in some very good assistants, perhaps they can take things a new direction and improve results too. If he's named coach, hopefully he can take the bits of things he has seen and experienced under everyone he's worked with and devise a way to getting the guys truly play the brand of hockey we've grown to love over the years. 2 Quote
