Mentioning online how he can recognize a nice pair of tits the same way he can recognize a nice D zone breakout is not exactly the persona we’d want him bringing to the stage. It’s ok to like him and what he’s done for us  while also realizing he’s been absolutely obnoxious at times. Both things are true.

The good ones know how to turn that off on the stage. Swish is one of those. No different than Biz telling a story of a chick gagging on his #%^* on his spittin chilklits pod then sitting next to The Great One on TNT the next day..

I might be in the minority but I miss the old days of Mazzocco and Woog. I just re-watched the 2010 Final Five games with UND and have fond memories of setting the VCR back in the early 2000’s and recording the UND/Minnesota or CC/Minnesota games on the Midwest Sports Channel and later on, Fox Sports North. Those two guys were clearly homers for the Gophers, as they should be, but always quick to give praise to the opponent when due.

Yes, or the old crew of Tom Reid and Mazzocco when Wooger was still behind the bench!

The biggest problem for Mazocco was that they had trouble finding a tutu that would match his pom pons.

How many times did he say this when a Gopher player was checked (and legally)?  "Down goes (Gopher player), NO CALL!"

Look up "homer" in a Minnesota dictionery and you'll Mazocco's picture.  At least Woog would corral him and explain the rules to him, and quite often did this.

Doug and "the Rug" were a classic combo.

Nice to hear that Jax and Co seemed to go all out to re-invigorate the summer pro camp.

Think it's huge to have that presence around current players to help keep passing down culture and expectations to new/current players. And for the players that have pro aspirations, I'd assume they love to have current pros around to bounce questions off of.

Agreed.

Hopefully they lined up a couple of  recruiting visits during the week.

They said on the website that tickets would be released a month before the first game. So me thinks the tickets listed are resell tickets?

Wednesday is one month before the Pen State game

@brianvf any idea when ASU single game tickets go on sale? I can't find  it but easily could have overlooked it too.

Yeah, should be listed soon...just states one month before first game.
Hoping to see you there this year!

Schloss wrote an article about the pro camp...I remember hearing about that years ago but didn't realize that it kind of died off.  Sounds like Dane led the charge to bring it back, and that's great to hear.  Great group of former players showed up!
Hopefully the current team got to hang around and skate with them a bit!

Soon after Dane Jackson was named UND's new head coach in late March, he began contacting former players, attempting to bring a pro camp back to The Ralph. The pro camp was big about 10 years ago — former UND defenseman Jordan Schmaltz was a big driver of it — but it slowly dissipated over the past few years.

"When coach Jackson took over, he reached out and said, 'Let's try to get this thing going again,'" Schmaltz said. "We had it going for a while. Then, it kind of died off a little bit. We're trying to build it back up. I think Jax did a good job letting guys know early, so they could get it on the books. It was a pretty good turnout. Hopefully, we can keep building it."

Nice list of attendees:

Poganski, Greene, Poolman, Senden, Gaber, Boeser, Bernard-Docker, Kiersted, Hain, Frisch, Caulfield, Pehrson, Jake & Nick Schmaltz, Ness, Kunz, Berg, Pehrson, Britt, and Wilkie.

Adam Scheel was the lone goaltender back.

Very smart of Jackson.  With the current UND players on campus it has got to be inspirational to see some of those names coming back, and can only feed into the loyalty of perpetuating the practice of coming back to prepare for the upcoming pro season and keeping connected to the program.  Jackson realizes how important that is going forward to keep the UND family together past and present. Apparently another thing that Berry didn’t put any focus on to keep going.
