Height? Position?

6’2”. Projects as a 4. Fits what Hutter likes at that position, in that she has 3-point range in addition to post up ability.

Add to list of 2026 offers:

Jayden Sonnenberg 5’11” C/G from Frazee Mn. (She was offered before start of her junior year) Very athletic, plays guard but also plays center. Decent 3 point shooter.

Did anyone see who we signed ? I never saw anything

Jayden Sonnenberg is a 2026 recruit from Frazee, Mn, so she can’t sign yet. I believe she is the commitment Hutter referred to in his Monday.

I believe that likely completes the 2026 high school recruiting class--Fricke, Smith and Sonnenberg. Looks like a very solid class.

This was from a Star Tribune article on recruiting from May:

Quote

Jayden Sonnenberg, Frazee

5-11 / Guard

McGinnis: The Frazee guard is one of the most talented, least known college prospects in the state. Playing for Inspired Athletics out of Fargo, Sonnenberg lit up the scoreboard on opening weekend of AAU and delivered one gritty defensive performance after another. She holds one Division-I offer with more to come.

Fuller: Sonnenberg became the school’s all-time leading scorer this past season with more than 1,700 points, which broke a 12-year-old record. Might be longer before her mark is surpassed.

Per Jack Michaels, apparently Abby Duchscherer, the 2022 Ms. Basketball from Kindred and currently a softball player at Alabama, is going to transfer to UND after this school year to play basketball.

How many years does she have?

I'm not as familiar with her, but it sounds like she was very good in HS, but went to Alabama to play softball for 3/4 years, and now is going to switch back to basketball? Is that correct? If so, it will be interesting to see what many years of not playing does to her.  Hope it works out for the best.

looks like nutrition strength training player development training  and mental health training and extensive experience at the d1 level has all of a sudden became a point of emphasis while looking for a new assistant coach, all good ideas wish I would have thought of that, ooh wait, also after reading current bios of assistant coaches not one of them would hold the prerequisites and experience this ad is looking for making them unqualified to apply for this position hmmmm-- Assistant Coach - Women's Basketball - Grand Forks, North Dakota, United States https://share.google/MpUytBDSivDIcUKqp

You are definitely the first basketball mind to ever think about those qualities. Good job! Keep it up!

think what you want but ask yourself this, would anyone of und's current wbb assistant coaches be qualified to apply for this open position had they not already been on staff and the answer is no, looks to me like some of the issues the players parents and fans have had recently are at least trying to be addressed and if you don't think these concepts aren't a renewed emphasis and just a standard here than why aren't there assistant coaches on this staff with extensive d1 experience in player development nutrition strength training and mental health training
