after 28 games starting she was releived of a starting spot the last 2 games of the year, why is this a shock, a coach who doesn't want you to enter the portal doesn't bench a player with 2 games left unless he's telling her yaaaa go ahead and get yourself in that portal, i mean let's be honest if you were a wbb player at UND and you started 28 games in a row were the radio stations player of the game multiple times throughout the season had multiple double double performances throughout the season then was benched the last 2 games, no would you sign yourself up for the dumpster fire again or would you wanna go somewhere you were wanted and valued as the player you are and as a human being instead of being told you aren't good enough??? pretty easy decision if you ask me

up until a year ago only power 5 schools scholarship was gauranteed for 4 years meaning if you were asked to leave the team based on performance or playing time or any reason non disciplinary you could stay at the school under scholarship and they had to honor it until you graduate, when rev share was implemented that rule was extended for all d1 basketball teams, so yes its very possible staying enrolled at UND under scholarship not on team!!! im surprised it doesn't happen more often but most poeple wanna play, so to answer your question yes her scholarship is protected as is every player's on the team that doesn't transfer, keep in mind you cant quit the team and keep the scholarship you have to be asked to leave based off performance playing time or something else non disciplinary, if its something for discipline or acedemic reasons they don't honor your scholarship if you stay at the school, so in closing she will keep her scholarship at UND if in fact she was asked to leave based on performance or playing time or any other non disciplinary reason

I agree, she will definitely take time away from the other 5 or 6 57 gaurds on the team who thought their playing time was locked in, she had one other d1 offer tennessee state, if she was star studded with those stats their would have been a hundred offers like d2 u of mary girl, high offers even so im a little confused number 2 in d2 with 2 d1 offers, wouldn't you think a ton more, zero d1 offers in highschool, you know that hutter he will make a star out of her

yep u must be right, 1300 d1 athletes in the portal have so far sided with me, guessing the one or two that don't will come after realizing no one else is offering

who were lied to and told they had trust in their abilities as a staff from administration saying they were being offered a multi-year contract, had known otherwise never 25 and transfers never would have came is my guess, or at least mine wouldn't

western Oregon was 15 and 13 on the season at the ncaa d2 level, is bringing in another 5 7 gaurd when we have 6, 5 7 gaurds on our roster already really something to make huge strides in improving the roster, a d2 signee, i guess this fits my comments of what d1 transfer wants to come to a lame duck coaching staff, so far the answer is none

ur right and if she was they would have offered her 3 or four years before graduating high school, and if he did the first question her parents would ask is do you even have a contract to coach there until 2029 and his answer would be no

she is a 2029, sdsu fills their roster with girls they offered 3 or 4 years before they graduate and have done so consistently the past several years

where is the coach at UND multi-year contract at, oh thats right the Administration doesn't think he deserves one, why would a recruit pick usd over und, because their Administration has a vote of confidence in their coach to extend a contract to 2031, und confidence is so low in their coach they wont even take the interim tag off and give him more than a year

I think we went over this, d1 players don't want to play for a lame duck coaching staff, it's a glaring red flag that if the school administration doesn't think the coach deserves a vote of confidence from them by offering a multi-year contract why should they have confidence UND is a good choice to come and play, everyone gets their undies in a bunch about me saying it but it really matters to recruits, imigine you had a daughter with multiple offers, it's highly likely every other offer except UND comes from a coach with a multi-year contract, your lieing to yourself if you think that wouldn't effect your daughters decision, Noone is coming to UND unless their isn't a second option, in the same respect no one is entering the portal and risk losing a full d1 scholarship if they feel they may not be offered somewhere better and or sitting on someones bench if they do find a home when they think they can at least play here, even if it is a toxic environment

UND loses out on another recruit to summit league USD, i just cant believe a recruit would pick a school whose coach has a multi year extended contract over UND's lame duck coach who doesn't have a contract, just shocking!!!

this is what real wbb programs do, New Mexico hired a Amy Eagen yesterday, paid her really well, gave her a multi-year contract, disclosed the terms and length of the contract so she could get to work recruiting immediately all in 24 hours, und hires a Shlub and doesn't offer him a multi-year contract even a year later so recruits offered and assistant coaches hired know if their not committing to a lame duck coach or not, it's not hard poeple, it's pretty simple actually

is anyone else beside me putting 2 and 2 together here, interim coach same as Bernhrd same time of year hired, a year later Bernhard offered 3 year contract to be able to recruit then later extended to recruit some more then it goes south and like most suspect hutter was brought in to be the eyes and ears then magically offered the interim job when bernhard quit, fast forward a year with this interim coach with no 3 year contract in sight likely because of last seasons trainwreck, all of a sudden an assistant job opening is posted with prerequisites and experience required that far exceed any of his current assistants, just like what better players want to come play for a lame duck coach what better assistant wants to be hired by said lame duck coach unless hutter didn't post the ad at all and will have very little input on who the hire will be, if I had to guess being there's no sign as of today that 3 year contract is being offered and the interim tag isn't removed as far as we know today, it's likely the new assistant will be wanted to be the eyes and ears and will be in the running for the next interim position with a years chance to prove themselves

funny how this information for Mallory Bernhard was immediately disclosed and made public but absolutely nothing disclosed for Mr Burnt UND Hard

and u don't think a single journalist or media outlet in a whole year has requested this and would have disclosed the info they found, they cant disclose what isn't found interim coaches and assistant salaries are not required to be released, again I challenge anyone to find the multi year contract, you wont there isn't one, their required to release it if a. there is one and b. if they ask for it , simple

I don't want him to have that, im with the AD, if he deserved one they would give him one but obviously he doesn't and thats why there isn't one, im just stating the obvious it matters to someone with options to come here

it actually really matters, recruits on a visit whether a incoming freshman or transfer and their parents ask do you have a contract extension or not because nobody wants to play at a school whose coach isn't under a multi year contract, it's called a sitting duck and will deter players from coming, everyone commenting on this forum wants und to bring in better players higher profile recruits, nobody with recruitment options wants to play for a lame duck coach without a multi year contract, it makes signing the players you guys commenting you want to come here alot harder to get, what part of you need a multi year contract do you not get, he doesn't have one!!!!
