Anyone have an idea why this team was not engaged for most of this game along with the Augie game?  Looking for ideas about what's going on in these guys' heads. The first order of business should be to compete, but something's not clicking with these guys..They're either on or off with no in between. It's concerning because it seems to be a team-wide shutdown & this attitude can cost us valuable PWR points down the road. Or was it because Mankato was frustrating them with a heavy forecheck?

Yes, as Hennessy always says “the other team is trying too”.  I’m sure some of these guys are 6 years older than guys like Boisvert and Swanson.  Of course we’ve got some older guys too, and ultimately those are the guys who got it done in this game.

This board used to be fun. It’s turned pathetic, several people on here that just thrive on negativity. A couple trolls that stoke the flames(and you clowns fall for it and engage with it as if it’s actual constructive criticism). How bad is your mental fortitude that you just pack it in as soon as, god forbid, your hockey team(that I’m quite certain you actually hate) plays poorly in the 2nd period of the 2nd game of the season. I can’t imagine how you get through a day in your life if one slightly negative event takes place. It has to be absolutely exhausting. I hope you find some perspective and peace in your life.

That’s the thing though, they don’t hold themselves to the same standard in daily life that they hold a college student playing a game!

So I paid the $25 and got to watch UND stink for 2 periods, and then the feed cut and I missed the comeback (because I paused and left for a while).   Arrrgggh!

Not pleasant to watch those first 2 periods.  Not much jump or hitting, losing puck battles, looking disorganized.  

Three goals in the third is encouraging, though.  A comeback on the road in a place where they have not won in a lot of years - I'll take it.

Hobie deserves a start. If TJ would have been lights out then the choice would be clearly to stick with him. TJ was good, not spectacular, so let’s get our recruit some reps.

The player who comes on the ice for the -1 turns and looks at the bench right after the goal. While their team and fans probably blame the refs, to paraphrase the legendary Gunnar Stahl, they lost it for themselves.

If the tables were turned, would we UND fans feel the same way as this guy? I don’t know, after reviewing the hit, it seemed like a legit penalty call to me, and it was made by CCHA officials so I give them credit for calling it.

We have a guy up in the press box whose job is to look out for things to be challenged. Like a missed major penalty or offsides on a goal. He noticed it and called down to the bench to get berry to challenge the play for a major.

Gotcha. So the infraction must’ve happened uncalled, Mankato somehow gains possession of the puck and scores and then Berry challenges the missed call. Right on. Thanks!
