You may be content with the current state of the program, but I am not.

And we haven't had a reason to have a "parade" for any UND program in years.

I don't believe in sugar coating the truth because it is unpalatable.

I never said I was content with the state of the program, but you NEVER have anything positive to say. You make Debbie Downer seem like an optimist. If you are this unhappy, you really should find more hobbies.

When there is something positive to say about UND athletics, then I'll say it. The new facilities coming online, for example, are great. Eric Schmidt was a great hire for FB and I am very excited for the 2025 season.

But I also won't ignore the very serious problems with UND athletics right now. Pretending they aren't there won't make them go away. If that makes me a "Debbie Downer", then so be it.

What has Schmidt done that you are calling him the answer to all of UND’s problems? New players? New coaches? You will be the same one biatching when they lose a game. Get ahold of Chaves now so you can say you were the first! SMFH!

Nobody knows if he will be the answer, but there is a palpable excitement in the fanbase, and from some of the video shown, the players themselves that was lacking before.  I think things can get stale if enthusiasm isn’t injected into the players and fans alike, and whether that can translate on the field is yet to be seen, but at least there is something other than apathy in the meantime.

Congrats to Jake on making all-NCHC first team!
He was the only UND player to be named to any of the 3 teams.

Quote

First team all-NCHC
F — Alex Bump, Western Michigan (unanimous)
F — Jack Devine, Denver
F — Artem Shlaine, Arizona State
D — Zeev Buium, Denver (unanimous)
D — Jake Livanavage, North Dakota
G — Simon Latkoczy, Omaha

How was James not at least a 3rd teamer?

A few UND players up for post-season awards:

Quote

NCHC Rookie of the Year finalists
Sacha Boisvert, North Dakota
Max Plante, Minnesota Duluth
Joona Vaisanen, Western Michigan

I'm guessing Boisvert takes this one.  Plante was injured for a stretch but was damn solid when he came back.

NCHC Offensive Defenseman of the Year finalists
Jake Livanavage, North Dakota
Zeev Buium, Denver
Samuel Sjolund, Western Michigan

Buium's to lose.

Quote

NCHC Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year finalists
Louis Jamernik V, North Dakota
Josh Luedtke, St. Cloud State
Matt Davis, Denver

Maybe Jammer gets it with his aviation degree?  Who knows.

Quote

NCHC Media Excellence Award finalists
Tim Hennessy, North Dakota radio
Bruce Ciskie, Minnesota Duluth radio
Greg Waddell, Miami radio

Even with his voice giving out a bit, TH is twice the radio man compared to Ciskie.

Hell, I'd take the Mafiaman over Ciskie!

Your moderator skills are only surpassed by your sense of humor.

If that actually happened, it would rank as one of the greatest coaching feats in college hockey history, considering they currently can't string 2 solid games together to save their lives, let alone 8.

hell, they can barely do 1

Win games or go home. Bottom line. They’ve not shown they can do it. Does desperation change this team’s identity? I don’t see it, but am hoping they get to St Paul and shock people.

A scout on Twitter does them and was doing requests so he pumped out 100 or so. If I find his handle I'll send it to you.

Where does he get his information from?  Seems like a lot of variables with asterisks.
