The new facilities coming online, for example, are great. Eric Schmidt was a great hire for FB and I am very excited for the 2025 season. But I also won't ignore the very serious problems with UND athletics right now. Pretending they aren't there won't make them go away. If that makes me a "Debbie Downer", then so be it. Quote
DJ Twist Posted March 12 Posted March 12 What has Schmidt done that you are calling him the answer to all of UND’s problems? New players? New coaches? You will be the same one biatching when they lose a game. Get ahold of Chaves now so you can say you were the first! SMFH! 2 Quote

I think things can get stale if enthusiasm isn’t injected into the players and fans alike, and whether that can translate on the field is yet to be seen, but at least there is something other than apathy in the meantime. 4 Quote

Popular Post Blackheart Posted March 12 Popular Post Posted March 12 From Schlossman in today's Heraldo: UND has known for a couple of weeks now that its only route to the NCAA tournament is by winning the National Collegiate Hockey Conference Frozen Faceoff. The league flopped in nonconference play this season, putting its members in poor position in the Pairwise Rankings. That is true, but the reason UND is in a bad spot in the Pairwise is because UND lost crucial non-conference games. (See Bemidji, Cornell, and OT win against Robert Morris) If you take care of your own games, then you don't need to worry about how the rest of the NCHC played out of conference. The conference didn't put the Sioux into this situation; their own inconsistent play did. 2 6 Quote

Expand Denver with 6 players on the 3 teams, despite losing underclassmen studs like Rizzo, Broz, Shai Buium, and Matikka from last years team. One has to wonder if it is recruiting, development, or systems that are holding UND back from being better represented in postseason awards, and ultimately post season success. I tend to believe that UND doesn’t play an aggressive offensive game which explains why they have to block so many shots. Rather than being in the offensive end shooting they are always chasing. Time for a new philosophy! 8 Quote
