I know we are supposed to hate the guy because he played at the Ag school(doesn't make me hate them any less), but going in with a fractured shoulder socket to go along with the labrum....every time you get tackled its got to be excruciating pain. He was indeed the whipping boy until JJ was 110 percent ready to play again. I think it shows as well what they have with Golden Gopher legend Max Brosmer. It could be a dark day in Detroit on Sunday. Quote

Johnny Five Posted yesterday at 01:34 AM Posted yesterday at 01:34 AM Pathetic move by the entire organization. Stevie Wonder could see that Carson was injured. Disgusting. Quote

JJ had nothing to do with it for the last game. KOC said after the game the left CW in to protect Brosmer and not put him in a bad spot. Didn't know the extent he was hurt. A lot of blame to go around to the coaches, medical staff and player. Was tough to watch. Quote

And all of a sudden, with Wentz on the shelf, J.J. is available to play again! How convenient! Brosmer should have gotten a chance to start vs. the Chargers. I don't think he could have done any worse than Wentz did Quote
Wilbur Posted yesterday at 01:44 PM Author Posted yesterday at 01:44 PM As soon as the game went as south as it did they should've put in Brosmer. Run the ball and throw some quick outs. You weren't going to win that game either way. 2 Quote
Kab Posted yesterday at 01:55 PM Posted yesterday at 01:55 PM KOC should be gone treating players like he did wentz is wrong Quote
Frozen4sioux Posted yesterday at 03:23 PM Posted yesterday at 03:23 PM The Vikings should lose a first round pick for how they handled Wentz and the abuse they had him endure. I'm sure Carson wanted to play but it was basically like serving gfhockey "one for the ditch" after closing time 1 1 Quote
Hawkster Posted yesterday at 04:19 PM Posted yesterday at 04:19 PM Well at least Wentz now has a face saving way to retire. He can claim an injury forced him out otherwise he would have stayed and played for another 5 teams in 5 years. The reality is Wentz was only good if he had a hell of a good team backing him up. With the Eagles he had a Super Bowl team to play on and the Bison teams he started for were head and shoulders above any other FCS team at the time so of course he looked good. When you don't have a great team to carry you along, then you get the true Carson Wentz experience. Quote

He was going to need surgery at some point regardless of what happened after the initial injury. Credit to him for doing everything he could to protect some younger players and play to the best of his abilities. Quote The entire night was a throwback to previous eras of gladiator football, when players were glorified for pushing through injuries that would cripple mere mortals. As it turns out, Wentz was playing with a torn labrum and fractured socket caused by a dislocation he suffered on Oct. 5 against the Browns. He said Thursday night that he could still function well enough to help the team, and coach Kevin O'Connell said that Wentz told him repeatedly he could continue playing. Quote

The Patriots got into trouble for playing games with the injury reports in the mid 2000's. McCarthy was the emergency QB. Meaning he couldn't come into the game unless both Wentz and Brosmer weren't able to play. If he was the emergency QB, then he wasn't ruled out for the game and if he had to, could have went into the game (again, assuming both other QB's are injured). Emergency QB doesn't count against the gameday roster. He was obviously medically cleared, however that doesn't mean anything other than he could be eligible to play in the game unless absolutely necessary. KOC stated Wentz told him he could keep going and he didn't want to put Brosmer into that situation. Again, kudos to Wentz to gut it out and also do what he could to protect a rookie QB. KOC could have overridden Wentz's wishes and chose not to. It is more than fair to question that decision, however "investigating" it isn't even a thing. What exactly are you investigating? He was off the 4 game IR. He was the emergency QB. Quote

Hawkster Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I see the Vikings signed John Wolford to replace Carson Wentz. Wolford hasn't played a snap in the NFL since 2022 but he's still probably an upgrade. https://sports.yahoo.com/article/vikings-sign-veteran-quarterback-kevin-130728234.html?fr=sycsrp_catchall Quote
