Wilbur Posted December 10 Author Posted December 10 Do the Vikings lock up Sam Darnold knowing that they've got JJ under contract at least four more seasons? Who would've thought that Sam would be so good this year in Minnesota? KOC just knows how to whisper to the QB's I guess. JJ will be 22 in January. Sam just turned 27. 1 Quote

Some team will be dumb enough to pay him for 3-4 years. I would only take him back if it’s a one year deal IMO. Quote

Yeah, he's gonna take the money and run if he can get 3 years at $30 plus million per year...problem is he won't have his KOC security blanket to fall back if he's playing for the Raiders. Quote

You guys give KOC far too much credit. Anyone would look good throwing to Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. Throw in TJ Hockenson and Aaron Jones, and even an average QB like Kirk Cousins looks great. Quote

Darnold was a bust with the Jets, but is flourishing with the Vikings. Quote

The Jets didn't have Jefferson, let alone Addison or the Vikings offensive line. I'm not even a Vikings fan, but I believe they have the best receivers in the NFL, even better than the Bengals. Quote

Probably depends on how they feel about KOC's next reclamation project (Daniel Jones) and how McCarthy's rehab is coming along. It would be a tough call to let him walk but that money could go a really long way in shoring up some other holes in the roster. 1 Quote

You're right, it's going to be a tough call. Quote
SiouxFan100 Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Darnold sucked before this year - like really bad Quote

Darnold had outplayed his contact. Bad situation with dead cap money this year. But being able to build a team around a rookie (or very cheap) QB contract is a huge advantage. Problem is other guys will need to get paid as well. Something has to give somewhere. Quote
