Unless they separate from the NCAA and create their own playoff system (like the FBS does with CFP), they can't do any of that per NCAA regulations.

It would be a waste of time to reach out to Jett.  His brother was told during recruiting that he was going to be the "next" guy.  Trey apparently didn't beat out Jerry in fall camp and was the #3.  When being recruited, NDSU was up front with Trey and told him he wasn't going to fit in their system and said best of luck.   If Romfro was/is our top QB, how bad were the other two.  (Assuming our coaches made the right choice on the QB situation)

1. They didn’t make the right decision 2. There was a lot of media (*cough cough* Tom Miller) pushing for Romfo due to the story and ND connection. Possibly that got between their ears a little too much as well

I was as surprised as anyone when Romfo won the job but I doubt they care what Tom Miller thinks.

I don’t think Miller was pushing for Romfo to win the job. He was just reporting on how the QBs looked during fall camp.

On one hand a great ND story with literally a few DI walk-ons per 5 years to maybe 100 years, average it out.

OR - One of the biggest High Schools in MN that kicks out DI players annually and 1 hour away.  (and we had the coaches son on the roster)

This is a tough one for me if my program is struggling in landing top talent.

MVFC has 11 teams. Only team I didn't see play this season was SIU. Where does Romfo fit in the QB rankings 1-11 of the MVFC? I'll hang up and listen. 

Of the 10 MVFC QBs is saw play I have him at 8....could persuade me he's 9.

Regardless of what people think of Romfo, it is absolute malpractice to not get your other younger quarterbacks any playing time, especially when there was plenty of opportunity.  Sleeping in team meetings and not getting others playing time are reasons for termination, especially when the team absolutely collapses.  This team definitely took on the personality of their coach -- insecure and uninspiring.

How many opponents played two QBs this year? Off the top of my head Montana, Idaho State, Murray State, ndsu, SDSU, Illinois state. At least half our opponents got the back up qb in game reps..

Of course the new OC wasn’t as concerned about winning in his new job as internet experts who are attending every practice and watching hours of video every week. He wanted a feel good story to be his legacy as an ambitious OC instead.

Some teams even got their third string qb in. But we couldn’t take out Simon for a quarter winning, or losing, by 20+ because one decent drive from Jerry and it would’ve shown the whole time Bubba made yet another wrong decision. Simon has the game of his life and the winning two point attempt into TE throwing to FB. We’re all just frustrated and over it, it’s obvious he needs to go and it baffles me how people still defend him.

Any smart coach knows that developing depth is a huge factor in whether you are going to be a championship caliber football team.   As such, you take every opportunity you can to develop that depth.   It is either a complete fail in not doing so, or if the players are so bad that they don't even dare put them on the field, then it is a bigger failure in recruiting in that you don't even have guys to develop.

If anyone thinks it was all fun and well didn’t watch a game let alone every play of the season. These coaches do not go against each other and they were clearly riding the burning ship down together.

Many, many, many times this season the team could have used fresh legs, fresh arms, and fresh height.

I don't know about the Tom Miller angle but to be clear on my frustration and disappointment.

Romfo is starting QB out of Camp while Feeney doesn't get a sniff.  Neither has proven a thing in a college football game.  Feeney has about 1,000 more completions in High School at the 5A level.  Feeney is taller, stronger arm, tons more throwing experience.  Simon runs better.  Feeney comes from a school that could be/has a pipeline of talent.  Simon is a feel good ND story.  Most are just asking, why not see something on the field?  Did Simon really blow Feeney and Jerry away in practice to the point it wasn't even close?  I find that hard to believe and as someone else mentioned I would trade Romfo with most other QBs in the MVFC.

I am frustrated with the lack of QB talent/development the past 11 years and in the process handled this past year so poorly UND can't even show their face at Moorhead High.

In 2023 he was 15/20 for 217 and a touchdown. I know that it would’ve all been garbage time stats but still find it hard to believe Romfo was just miles better than him
