That battle between Celebrini and Eiserman seems to be handily won by Eiserman.
Of course, they'll be playing in the NHL next year.

Augustana beats BGSU 4-1

Keep an eye on Augie. Raboin is young, a great recruiter, and relates well to the players. They like and respect him. They will have a new facility, a young very personable AD in Josh Morton, and Sanford’s financial support and interest in putting their thumbprint on college hockey. USHL team in town so those kids are familiar with Sioux Falls. Augie coaches can watch the USHL teams frequently to assess talent. Augie is also a good school.
It will be interesting to see how long it takes but they have a lot of the pieces falling into place that are necessary for success. Time will tell.

Big blow for UMD, losing their 2nd leading scorer from last year, for the rest of this season.

Wow, Biondi last year, now James this year.  Losing anybody is brutal, but top guys really hurts.

I really can't stand Duluth. But you hate to see a guy go down for the full year no matter what, definitely feel for him. Especially when he was probably going to be one of the best centers in the NCHC. That's brutal.

Yeah, you add the life and death cancer issues of Zach Stejskal and Will Francis and it has been a rough few years for Duluth.

Agree across the board.  Would be great to get them on the schedule alternating with Bemidji, so playing local CCHA teams every other year.  Try to schedule the series so it matches up with a football game in Vermillion or Brookings for a nice travel weekend.

Matt Wellens' tweet is a little over the top in saying "his junior season is over".  Having played just 3 games, he's eligible for a medical redshirt.

Of course, still a bad blow that I wouldn't wish on him or UMD by any means.

I agree hockey for Augie is going to be very successful.  The same with St. Thomas.
