A lot of you never played college athletics and it shows. I once had a coach tell a kid who never had a dad in his life “I’m your daddy now”. That coach will probably be in the hall of fame at that school and is loved in the community. College athletics is nasty behind closed doors

I've had coaches say a lot worse to me and I would lace up tomorrow and do it all over again.

I mean sure, whatever. Thanks for gracing us with your expertise. What level did you play at again so we know how much to take your opinion into account since that's apparently the measuring stick?
Stepping aside and saying maybe some of it is accurate, if college athletics are such a harsh reality and so nasty, why does someone who hasn't been on campus for multiple years and has moved on (twice) need to try to air dirty laundry? Why are you making such a big deal out of the comments that were made? Why do the opinions of those who were asked to move on matter so much? Seems more personal than anything because, as you've said, it is supposedly the norm in college athletics.

Still don't buy a good chunk of the accusations, but whatever. Coach got the extension he deserved. Retain and build from there.

Why do you care so much about what other people care about? It is such weird behavior from a grown adult.

Why can't you answer any of the questions I asked?
I mean you put your opinions out there, with conviction, why is it weird that someone wants to ask you the expand on it?

I do need to say it's quite strange you and Good show up in full force at same time this year.

All negative against Sather in a contract year. Seems a bit too coordinated for me.

I think the most negative thing I’ve said today is “Some interesting reactions from formers players”. Really laid it on Sather. Some harsh comments from  Hoopsfan03, I mean McBuckets, I mean GoodGood

Certainly not a positive comment. But you know that.

Are we to assume you are a fan of Sather then and agree with the extension?

I literally do not care who the coach is. Just win. And if you don’t win, at least be entertaining

Why don't you ask Aanen Moody if it is true that Sather kicked him off the team because he had a kid? That it wasn't his decision to transfer and that Sather truly kicked him off for the kid. That will give you a lot of answers you're looking for Zach

I didn't realize Moody had a kid until this year. I wanted to see him do well at UND but I had always assumed they parted ways because Moody either wasn't interested in or capable of guarding anyone.

You can assume whatever you want. But at the end of the day my opinion is incorrect. Your opinion is incorrect. Everyone's opinions are incorrect. The only opinion that is correct is @jdub27 and Sather's bodyguard, SD

Now, let's drop this and talk about how UND can find a way to be competitive in the 2023-2024 season like this forum page is intended for.

I agree, everyone needs to stop the B****ing and lets talk hoops and recruits. UND needs a 5 or a very strong 4 to help T slide to the 4 or BJ to the 3. Any names floating out there? Who's got eyes on Herbst??? Man is a machine!

Pretty thin skinned for a guy who's been through the nastiness of college athletics. But I digress.

Retain and build.

A couple of those are now on their 3rd stop. It is what it is, but not hard to see why they would be upset.

Some of the others complaining look like they were probably told they weren't going to play at this level or they didn't fit into the new staff's plans. Looking at their stats where they currently are, that former was probably accurate and the latter happens frequently when there is a coaching change.

Other than Rebraca, has any player that left been measurably more successful than they were at UND?

Hopefully these players shared their concern with the athletic director on their way out. Because that opinion is the only one that actually matters.

Moody has definitely been more successful. Burns had a nice year at USD obviously his numbers were going to be down. I can't remember if Ihenacho got hurt this year or last year at James Madison but haven't heard much from him since.

It is interesting to read all the hate towards the players that leave It is interesting to read all the hate towards the players that leave. Now I understand when someone leaves the program you're not going to like it or be a fan of that player but just seems extra at times. Hope the guys that leave and had left UND can find success somewhere else and I'll always cheer on the North Dakota kids where every they play. My main focus will be on the guys that are on the team competing in the green jersey and focusing on getting some transfers to help get to the top half of the conference.

I'm not going to pretend to know more than I do about the situation like others seem to do. Not sure was happened with DAEs time at UND, Moody leaving, or any of the other guys. I really enjoyed watching Moody play for UND and think he would have been a good asset on the team. On here we can all talk hoops and speculate but at the end of the day none of us are on the team and don't know what is going on in the locker room day to day.

DAE needs to grow up.  He is obviously still searching for something and that's fine. But it sure as hell isn't Sather's fault for anything that is happening to him.
