These are two very winnable games before the schedule turns up a notch. 5-1-1 in the first 7 is excellent and necessary. Dave You are correct sir: They're power play is ranked 48th Miami 25/ 33 (75.8) However, UND's penalty kill is ranked 49th 2/25 (.08) One thing that has stuck out; UND is ranked 54 in penalty minutes. They’ve taken 7 penalties for 52 minutes that’s an average of 7.4 minutes per game. I know it means little until they get into league play and faceoff against rival opponents like UMD, UMN, and DU. Good to see the penalty minutes down, but when they start playing faster, more skilled opponents, they will be more apt to get those hooking, tripping and holding penalties. Hopefully we recognize this as an opportunity to get off to a good start in the league and continue our momentum before we hit a challenging stretch. It's kind of what they've always done, historically. Very, very competitive for 2 or 3 years and then fall off, build back up. This ties directly into the same mentality as beating non-cons. Win the series you SHOULD, especially at home. Miami, CC, Omaha, and WMU are all series where a split is the worst outcome.
