Who would UND hire?

This is probably a naive take. Bubba like everyone had strengths and weaknesses. The perceived weaknesses I saw (excitement, confidence) were so glaring when it came to recruiting and “when something went wrong” in the game. That look we all know when they showed him was crazy. Might not be a coach that instilled less confidence. Road games. Somebody to say enough. There clearly are strengths too. Those will be utilized in the new position. Even recruiting, have him around the players and parents, he just cannot be the guy making the offer in the room. Which of course he won’t be anymore. 
 

I’m good with whatever. I’ll spin it either way. MAYBE, someone like Schmidt can be the ultimate win / win.

UND is a funny/unique place.  
 

What I’ve learned from reading this board is the UND HC on controls everything and makes every decision in the program when you want him fired.  Assistants bear zero responsibility. 
 

At other schools coordinators (when judging applicants) it is about their results only (forget team turnover) and the decisions they made for their school as they have all responsibility for that groups performance.

Won’t take the card away but having a familiar gobc back in the club is renewing the same imo.  Outside influence will have a different view or take.  IMO. 
 

Try something new from an outside source as und D1 days have been very underwhelming.

Mentioned before but he is the one that I wouldn’t mind if und “has” to hire a und connection.  Extremely smart guy.  Football demeanor.   But again….wish und would step away from the connection. There are plenty of legit coordinators or lower level head coaches that this would be an upgrade for.
