I was half joking before Bubba was "let go" about UND being serious and doubling the head coaching salary. Why these minor baby steps in salary increase? UND needs a serious "jump start" (only 87 nattys behind our neighbor). What better way than saying "highest paid in fcs"! Then they come out with bubbas new AD position and show... Yeah anything is possible.... Even paying some lady $100k+ to your buddy living in Texas on the UND payroll like President Kennedy did. 1 Quote

With his job on the line I just don’t see why he would go with Fruechte. Lol yall are funny. The extension was far from bad. Exact opposite actually. Many said it was the correct move at the time. Even "undfootball360"! And now with the newly created position in his back pocket, Chaves looks like a genius. New coach and new position to enhance UND football! Chaves isn't anywhere near having his job on the line. Like yall think the ADs is solely responsible for hiring and firing head coaches!? You're delusional if you think Chaves can just fire Brad Berry tomorrow even if he wanted too! 1 Quote

Longtime fan Posted Sunday at 11:48 AM Posted Sunday at 11:48 AM Any und tie hire brings me the least amount of excitement. Wish them the best but it comes across as another easy/lazy hire for und. I don’t see much change. Same schemes, same culture…etc. Add to it …bubba is still around. Gobc still intact. His influence with an old coordinator remains solid. 1 Quote
UND-FB-FAN Posted Sunday at 12:38 PM Posted Sunday at 12:38 PM Let’s look at Arizona State, albeit FBS; A lot of talk about other coaches and teams, but to go from 3-9 last year to 11-2 and win the conference in your first season in the league (new Big 12), and secure a CFP spot is incredible. What the young Kenny Dillingham is doing is quite remarkable. Young, hungry and local pride (he’s from Phoenix metro) appears to not be a bad combo. Also, as some on here might like it, this is a knock against Beau Baldwin - they fired him and the results they got this year have been remarkable. Also, proves quick turnarounds are possible in CFB. No reason to be overly complacent, or justify coaches who go on losing season after season. Quote

Oxbow6 Posted Sunday at 01:00 PM Posted Sunday at 01:00 PM The fix will be in and Bama will backdoor into the playoffs again. DeBoer will be on the national stage. The prospect of a new HC who worked under DeBoer holds water IMO. UND was Bubba's Notre Dame (his quote). There was never a ceiling the last decade plus. Quote

Their NIL collective must be doing well too. Their QB is getting $600k+ and ten players got Mustang Mach-E cars for their use while at ASU. Colorado has a majority of the top earners in the Big 12. I have some contact with a top hs basketball player being recruited nationally. NIL money was definitely a big part of their recruiting and decision on where to go to college. Quote

I don’t like having Bubba around, period. Good news is the worry could very well be for no reason. The defense is beyond broken. I think we give everyone the benefit of the doubt and say changes will be made. I’m excited, for whoever it is. I’m 100%, with whoever. Here’s what I want to see / feel from now until Day 1 of 2nd semester. • Excitement from the fan base. I want to feel momentum. • Win round 1 portal. Keep key players. O-Line, RBs, Young secondary players. Limited scope enter first 48 hrs. From there more be team fit than player decision. • Big changes in staff • DIFFERENCE in portal offers. Limited offers so far, very inline with past years. Should he no surprise, same staff. • Recruit, recruit, recruit. New level of athlete. Have there be a new feeling. New confidence around the program. Quote

GF cost of living is 9% below the national average. You smart people can do the math from here. 1 Quote
