If UND hires Schmidt, and San Diego State’s defense does much better in 2025, and UND struggles with Schmidt in year one, there will be a lot of early sandbagging … I think Schmidt is more Lennen than Bubba. That make me excited for UND football. 5 Quote

Recruit better, period. Players win games. Coaches recruit the players. 2016 Bubba and Schmidt defense choked at home vs CAA Richmond … Quote

UND Football Fan Posted December 8 Posted December 8 I was hoping for someone new but, if it is Schmidt, I hope he seriously evaluates the assistants, and remove those that need be. 3 Quote
The Sicatoka Posted December 8 Posted December 8 If it is Schmidt he’d better have HIS staff from his time away. 2 1 Quote

Would be a real slap in the face *if* the UND guy who went away, and made great new “FBS connections”, then gets hired back and keeps the majority of the current UND staff in place … Quote

Probably pretty high since the source was (maybe) at a UND event, got a text from a friend who was at a UND event, who struck up a conversation with Tom Miller. For some reason Tom Miller decided to give his opinion and prediction on the hire. This is 100% iron clad!!! 2 Quote

So can a 4-3, a 3-4 and a 3-3-5 depending on the opponent and down and distance. None of them will work if you don’t have the talent to plug in to those spots though. 7 Quote

Cratter Posted December 8 Posted December 8 Talked to a popular former UND football player from the 90s. "Who do you want the new coach to be." ....his immediate response.... "Someone not from the program." 1 Quote
Sioux94 Posted December 8 Posted December 8 I leave you guys alone for like 10 hours....and when I come back here....there are 8 pages to catch up on lol. It's not going to be Fruechte, it wouldn't have drug out this long if it was going to be him. Yes ,Kelly said would like salary to be 350k, that is a wish/hope. We do need to up the salary but it also needs to have incentives in it. How aboutv300k but 5k for every win? You go 10-2 then you make 350k. If they increase salary to 300k or more, even more reason it probably wouldn't be Fruechte who is making what, 110k today? If you are going to give it to him you could keep it at 250k with lots of incentives to see how he does. Hell I'm quite sure Fruechte would take the position if it was only 200k. 2 Quote
