Who would UND hire?

Not sold on Fruechte plus UND looks dumb saying 8 years experience and then hire the guy with 7.  Look at this years offense

They could roll with Fruechte and leave the interim tag on.  Not saying it would be a good look but I’ll bet it’s on the table.

I wonder what the legal ramifications of that would be.  When I was hiring in business world we had to open up the posting again with different qualifications if wanted to hire someone that didn't meet the minimum quals.  Reasoning was that others might not have applied because they were in same situation and would have applied if at 7 years.  Didn't want to get sued

How can that be on the table when the minimum criteria calls for 8 years experience and Fruechte has 7?

An internal hire would further illustrate the bush league management of this athletic department.

It’s going to be an amazing job for someone with the resources there.  Like national champion hunt by year three.  Football in Nashville in January by year 4 for a title and probably win it. A destination game down at UNLV or Hawaii.  Let’s think big here people 

UND at Hawaii to open their brand new stadium, there’s a game I’d go to !

Given some of the names who have actually rumored to interview the last day or two, if he somehow got it, it would be because he deserves it. 

But the minimum requirements among a few other things have me skeptical.

I’m sure, it’s a fraternity, but that doesn’t mean it’s the right choice for moving UND football forward in Division I against NDSU and SDSU. We’ve seen this movie plenty of times before, and we all know how it ends.

I have looked into his career and bio.   Looked at results.  Watched how he conducted himself and interacted with players and media. This dude is a winner! 

When looking over the potential candidates he was #1 for me. Posted couple days ago he is my #1 choice.  He has two decades of results.  82% win percentage.   Winners win regardless of level …aka DeBoer    

If he truly is a candidate and is interested in the job …und needs to do whatever they can to get this guy.   6 time national coach.   Being coach of the year 6 times means you’re doing something right.  Being coach of the year 6 times means you’re not satisfied with a 6-6 or 7-5.  Being a 6 time coach of the year is exactly what und needs

We got our guy as in we kept a guy in Grand Forks around whose teams he’s coached over the past two years have gone a combined 10-13? This sounds like a tremendous risk and a tremendous slap in the face if true. Like Fruechte as a person, just like Bubba, but sure hope there’s a different direction than this … but it would be typical UND.
