Popular Post SENDSIOUX
Tough game today, but its time for us "fans" to get ready for USD....I have been reading posts for a few years and I finally made an acct.. So V card post this is I guess..... My reason for this post is simple,I know this has been talked about many times on here but no change seems to happen.. I understand a lot is the alerus staff but.... As a young kid from 2000-2006 my family had season tickets. Going to the games the noise and the excitement that the crowd brought to those games is something I remember sooo much its was almost.....(that place to the south feel now days)... How do we get back to that? I understand wins get fans and students to games but (I don't wanna hear its because the students don't wanna go because it's not on campus, they used to pack the student section). As a team I see so much potential in this program and bubba and the crew is working on getting us those wins and playoff football....But what are we as fans doing? from the past few years of going to games i would say we arent putting in the work our team is...We neeed to be loud, we cant leave with time left on the clock, the players win as team and lose as a team, us fans win as a team and lose as the 40 people left in the alerus that actually stay if things go bad..... I challenge fans going to the game to get someone else to get a ticket, hell buy them one...lets ACTUALLy pack this place again...Lets get Loud and stay the whole game no matter what the team needs to know we are there for them no matter what....I dont want play by play on this forum next week because that means you are sitting at home not at the game...out of state fans listen to the radio everyone has a way to stream now days....I want to hear a slough of coyote calls when they are on offense....Sunday morning i dont want voices in anyone that went to the game, its a must win for the Team its a MUST win for the fans to show the support for this team....
SWSiouxMN
My two favorite UND Football moments came from USD games My first one was from the first UND football game I ever attended as a student and the second one was the Gotska miracle game as UND stormed back to win the Great West*. The throw to Anderson who just got throw down at the end of the endzone to pull the win. Brett Gostka, forever in our hearts Can't attend but will watch on Midco. I expect the long Yote drought in Grand Forks to continue. *let's ignore the fact that Muss got a contact extension after that game shall we

UND-FB-FAN
Pack the place! Alerus needs to be 1) full ,but most importantly, 2) loud!!! The team feeds off this. Ask any player, coach, or former player and they'll tell you the same thing. Build up the momentum for this thing. UND is 0-2 and desperately needs a win. What better way to get UND rolling for the conference schedule than a blow out win versus South Dakota?
Nodak78
I just finished watching the Weber vs UDS game on espn. You can watch it if you have a Roku. Weber was leading 42-21 starting the 4th qtr. Weber threw 2 interceptions. one with about 2 minutes to play. Garrett for Weber had 141 yds rushing. Bouma had 150 rushing and Steveler had 125 yds rushing for USD. Will our defense give up a 100 yds rushing to either? A QB with 125 yds. rushing? Steveler's mother will wisely say please don't run with the ball son. I prediction both John and Brady will have 100 yds rushing. and UDS will be held under 100 yds rushing as a team. UND 37 - USD

Keaton will put it together a full game, santiago will have his first 200 yard game of the year and toivonen will have 2 tds.
geaux_sioux
USDs QB is a beast. He's fast and strong. We need to contain him. Their RBs aren't game changers though they're tough but it's all about making their QB a pocket passer.

Matt
Disappointing we are still talking about this after how last season ended, but to me it comes down to whether or not the offense decides to show up in the first half. I think this week they do and the team wins by two scores.
MoSiouxFan
Coming from Kansas City. Coming back in Nov. with at least one for the No. Arizona game, hopefully to decide the Big Sky championship.
Nodak78
USD offense rushing is ranked 16th in the nat'l 246yds/game UND defense rushing is ranked 14th in the nat'l 76yds/game So will USD offense rushing be closer to 76 yds or 246yds. I would guess no more than 100yds rushing.
homer
I think they get 100. They just can't get it in big chunks. Playing Bowling Green last week should help with the pace USD wants to play at. So should the crowd noise.

I would guess no more than 100yds rushing. Their QB has some serious wheels. He'll break at least one long run. I bet they rush for 150ish. Their main RB is similar to Mitch Sutton. North/South physical tough runner. Decent speed but not game breaking. He's the type of RB our front 7 should eat for lunch. Again, it's all about the QB runs.
Football fan
Definitely can't underestimate USD. They play until the end, they proved that last week against Weber State. Without the first 3 initial turnovers, it wouldn't have even been that close of a game. Can't forget that they broke the 26 game home field winning streak against NDSU, defeating them 24-21 on the Bison turf just last year. Glenn described them as a tough, gritty bunch. Nielson has a reputation of building teams.

All this talk about playoffs, easy conference schedule and blah blah blah goes out the window if come Saturday evening UND is sitting at 0-3. 0-3 in my book means at this stage in your season you are not a good FB team. 1-2 gives you some momentum heading out west to play the Cats.

Weber didn't really pressure the QB and terrible at tackling in space. I will say Steveler used his block quite well. I hope I'm right but I could be way off. I respect him and he's a good back but he's not the type of back that will give us problems. A really shifty cutback runner is a worse matchup for our d. Bauma isn't going to create any yards out of nothing.
