burd Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 CC has a great tradition and played a very exciting brand of hockey for years. They have shown signs this year, and it would be great to get them back in the mix, kind of like the situation with Wisconsin prior to the Granato team hire. 1 Quote

I can't remember where it was...I think it was somebody on KFAN a few weeks ago. Obviously no way to know if that's true or not, but I wouldn't doubt it one bit. I just don't see why Guentzel would have stayed at Minnesota otherwise. He's two years younger then Lucia, Grant is most likely going to be the heir apparent at Minnesota. Guentzel has left Minnesota for a USHL head coaching job and two assist jobs at CC and Omaha. Quote

Especially if you have head coaching offers. Unless he just doesn't want to be a head coach, which I'm sure is possible. I could see Grant getting the job as well. There's been talk that the only reason he doesn't have a head coaching job right now is due to his lack of head coaching experience. If Lucia thinks he can do it and puts in a word to the AD I could see that happening. Quote

At this rate, Mike will wind up being the one who retires first! 1 Quote

MafiaMan Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 Walt Kyle fired today by Northern Michigan. Their next head coach will be their THIRD in the program's history. Quote

As someone else noted he's from the area. Also, he's super tall and lanky and was pretty uncoordinated while playing for the NTDP. While playing for the U18 team he was a 4th liner. He must have matured a ton from that year to his freshman year. Quote
