I went to the UNO/DU game tonight....wow. What a great game! Wished Omaha had won but they left everything out on the ice. It had all of the intensity of a big time NCAA tourney game. Great pace and flow. Back and forth, end-to-end.

Is it safe to say Omaha's season is now done or will some previous non-conference wins help them from an at-large perspective?

i'd like to see a site that shows who among the 60 programs is still alive for an at-large.  USCHO's Moy usually does a "Who's In/out" later this week.

Forget college hoops, following the conference tourneys, the selection, and the first rounds of NCAAs is as good as it gets for junkies like us.  Buckle up for the best two weekends of the college hockey year.

For all the criticism our nonconference schedule has gotten, this weekend has been pretty good for them so far:

Vermont - at BC. Won Saturday.   Game 3 tonight.

Lake Superior - at Mankato. Won Saturday.  Game 3 tonight.

Bemidji - at Bowling Green. Won Saturday. Game 3 tonight.

Wisconsin - at Minnesota.  Won Friday.

Michigan State got a tie and an overtime loss at home against Ohio State (not impressive).

(Huntsville and Maine got to play golf.)

UNO's free fall has finally hit rock bottom. Denver puts UNO out of their misery as well as ends their season.

I wonder what that poster who said UNO was now on par with ND has to say now?

I loved seeing Omaha's second half collapse, particularly for the negative effect it will have on their annoying fan base's psyche.  After building up their resume beating formidable opponents like Ohio State, Arizona State, and Air Force in the first half of the year, Omaha finished the second half with an astonishing 4-14 record.  In fairness to Omaha, 12 of their final 18 games were against UND, St. Cloud, and Denver during which they went 1-11 with a regrettable victory against UND.

The Mavericks are what they are: a very average 18-17-1 college hockey team.  Although it may look like they choked during the second half of the year, I think they just had an extremely easy schedule during the first half of the season that was backloaded with this year's NCHC powerhouses in January, February, and March.  Omaha just wasn't that good to begin with, and I am glad that the season is over for Omaha and their fans.

He's been missing since the St. Cloud series.

The new one I saw on Mavpuck was ever since Peterson left the team has been bad.
