Buxton needs to come back Sounds like he is close and could be back tomorrow. Seems like the Twins always give the guy they are sending down 1 more game before he heads to Rochester. I'd be completely fine if I never have to see Cave again. Rosario and Kepler can both play center better than Cave so next time they need an outfielder they should bring up Rooker. He'd definitely add more at the plate. Quote
UNDMOORHEAD Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Time for the pitchers and defense to step up. The game is still within reach and would be a great boost for the team to complete this comeback. Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Smeltzer continues the "get called up and pitch well out of the pen" trend in this series. Keep him and Thorpe up. 2 Quote

SWSiouxMN Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Smeltzer will have at least done one thing tonight. Give the bullpen a much needed break. 1 Quote
UNDMOORHEAD Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Average 9 runs a game for a three game series and only win one of those games. 1 Quote
Wilbur Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 I said a while back that the lead could be lost by August 1st. Hopefully going to Chicago and Miami helps our cause. Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 Dear Twins Starters: Did you see what Berrios did? Can you start doing more of that instead of only going 5 innings at a time? 2 Quote
Wilbur Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 Buxton makes such a difference out there. Cave just isn't close. 1 Quote
Wilbur Posted July 27, 2019 Posted July 27, 2019 Two in a row. Nice to see a starter get through seven and then a relief pitcher not wiggle around for ten minutes before he throws a pitch. More than one lefty in the pen??? Wha..... 1 Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted July 27, 2019 Posted July 27, 2019 These are big starts for Perez and Gibson this weekend, I’d say both are pitching for their starting jobs in the short and long term. Quote

Agreed. Odorizzi too. Pineda has been their best pitcher on the whole staff the last month. Quote

Wilbur Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 Bats go silent and the lead likely down to one. I've been critical of the Twins over this stretch, but my God the Indians haven't played anyone other than the Twins this month.....playing 10 against the Royals and a four game homestand against the mighty Tigers. Likely to go 13-1 in those 14.....throw in the Reds, Blue Jays....and I'm not as upset at the Twins..... Quote

SWSiouxMN Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 Perez did enough to win, the bats didn't show up. Romo is a start, but it cannot be the only move. I'm still not worried, they will win the divison. Quote

I see they did trade for one decent arm the last couple days which will help but that Yankees series really exposed how bad both teams pitching has been past a few starters. Quote
