KSSioux Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 I think they are the Bysunz (plural), not Byzin. Quote
Frozen4sioux Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 I thought its not pronounced the same as the Bi-sons of pride from the south? Quote
SiouxForever Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Let's start guessing subjective lines. It's time baby!!! Quote
OETKB Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 If I'm not mistaken, the coaches get to play more than 20 players in these exhibition games, right? If so, I look for all the freshies to get some playing time, as well as Soph goalie Hrynkiw. For the forwards, I'm thinking: Gaguila-MacMillan-Parks (just like last year - should be a dangerous line) Schmaltz-Pattyn-Johnson (see what Schmaltz can do for these other guys, who could both have big years) OD-Gaarder-Poganski (two seniors with a young power forward, could work) Chyzk-St.Clair-Olson (great grinding line, I would think) Sanderson-Murphy-Simonson-Panzarella (evaluate where these guys are in their development) On defense, I'm guessing they keep Thompson & Stetcher together, and move LaDue up to play with Schmaltz. Those four should play almost every game this year. I don't know how you keep Poolman out, but Ausmus is also a guy you expect to see, so I'm thinking those guys might split weekends to start the season. However they line up, the defense should be very good. Looking forward to a year where the team hopefully does not struggle so much. Quote

SiouxForever Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 I think Poolman plays a lot. He's 6'3 has skill and is mature beyond his years. I think Trevor Olson plays a lot too. They will give him a lot of opportunity. He has maturity and a gritty game. Pogs will be giving a shot right away. He needs to prove that he can transiton to this level. It's going to be be an interesting year. Don't hold your breath, just because there are some veteran players on this team that they are going to play. Those players have had their chances. Time for new blood if they don't produce. Quote
SiouxScore Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 If everybody dresses since it is an exhibition I could see something like this: O'Donnell-MacMillan-Parks Caggiula-N.Schmaltz-L.Johnson Pattyn-Gaarder-Olson Chyzk-St.Clair-Poganski Sanderson-Simonson-Murphy Thompson-J.Schmaltz Mattson-LaDue Ausmus-Stecher Poolman-Panzarella McIntryre C.Johnson Hrynkiw(Maybe gets in late in the 3rd) Quote

Only thing I would see different is poolman would be on that third D pairing. Quote
SiouxForever Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 I don't have any hope for Sanderson. Probably a great kid, not his fault. Johnny Simo will get a chance. He will have to earn it and be patient, but I think that will come. What are everyones thoughts on Murphy? He seemed like a lost puppy last year in college. Does he surprise us this year? I am not getting my hopes up. I wish him well, though. Quote
SiouxScore Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Love those lines. Only thing I would see different is poolman would be on that third D pairing. I could definitely see that 3rd pairing being kind of a rotation of Ausmus, Stecher, and Poolman. Quote
Emerald joker Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 If everybody dresses since it is an exhibition I could see something like this:O'Donnell-MacMillan-ParksCaggiula-N.Schmaltz-L.JohnsonPattyn-Gaarder-OlsonChyzk-St.Clair-PoganskiSanderson-Simonson-MurphyThompson-J.SchmaltzMattson-LaDueAusmus-StecherPoolman-PanzarellaMcIntryreC.JohnsonHrynkiw(Maybe gets in late in the 3rd) I like the forward lines but i could see the 1st and 2nd line switching, if Schmaltz is as good as they say he is the then put him and Cagguila with Mark and OD and Parks with Luke or put Luke on the first line too, cant remember if he centered last year. 3rd and 4th lines look good. Defence peolple seem to think LaDues going to be on that top line so LaDue with Scmaltz. 2nd line Mattson and switch off between Poolman and Ausmus. The veteran senior Mattson can help out Poolman. The 3rd people liked Thompson and Stetcher last year so keep them together. Schmaltz-Mark, Luke- Cagguila OD-Mark, Luke- Parks Gaarder- Pattyn- Olson Chyzyk- St.Clair-Poganski Schmaltz-LaDue Mattson-Poolman, Ausmus Stetcher- Thompson Looks good to me Quote

I Ranger Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 If everybody dresses since it is an exhibition I could see something like this: O'Donnell-MacMillan-Parks Caggiula-N.Schmaltz-L.Johnson Pattyn-Gaarder-Olson Chyzk-St.Clair-Poganski Sanderson-Simonson-Murphy Thompson-J.Schmaltz Mattson-LaDue Ausmus-Stecher Poolman-Panzarella McIntryre C.Johnson Hrynkiw(Maybe gets in late in the 3rd) I think these are pretty spot on all the way through. Lots are speculating LaDue jumping up to play with Schmaltz on that top pair but the way you have it here is the way I see it. This has a lefty/righty combo throughout the D-pairs which I would think is something the coaches would like to keep. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Historically, Hak has had his top two defensive pairs be a senior/sophomore and then a junior/freshman. Last year? Simmer/Schmaltz; Mattson/Ladue. I'd expect more of the same. Quote
siouxforeverbaby Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Since there wasn't a winner for the last Sioux Survivor game last year, we continue with that game before we start a new one. Picks are due on Sunday for the two people who were left. Quote

AZSIOUX Posted October 1, 2014 Author Posted October 1, 2014 Have they started full practices with coaches yet? If so anyone see practices and how some freshman are looking? Who won iron man?? Quote
siouxczech29 Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Have they started full practices with coaches yet? If so anyone see practices and how some freshman are looking? Who won iron man?? During last week's Wednesday live chat Schlossman said that Poganski looked pretty good during that day's practice. I have not heard about the iron man winner but my money is on K. Thompson. Quote
Maddogg1971 Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I love the makeup of this team. A little on the smaller side, but can skate and grind. Number 8 coming this year folks!!!! Quote
SiouxScore Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Schlossman said in the Herald chat that they will dress 22(not sure if he meant players or skaters but guessing players) for the exhibition based on that my guess for line combos: Caggiula-Schmaltz-Johnson OD-MacMillan-Parks Pattyn-Gaarder-Olson Simonson-St.Clair-Poganski Thompson-Schmaltz Mattson-LaDue Ausmus-Stecher-Poolman McIntyre C.Johnson Hrynkiw Scratches: Sanderson, Panzarella, Murphy, Chyzk Quote
