jdub27 Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 They have been and will continue to look into neutral site venues for MBB, WBB and VB but don't believe they will change anything midyear and its not UND specific. Quote
teamsioux Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Also lose second set 25-15. Nothing going right for UND and ISU capitalizing on it Quote
SiouxVolley Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 UND looks very disorganized. Idaho State seems to be able to hit at will. Four of their players are over .500 for hitting. Only Dooley and Pioske are at .300, everybody else, especially Moser, has had a poor game. ISU has had six aces, with two dropping in because our players misjudged their distance. We're hitting at an .062 clip, which says we aren't even in the game. ' Quote
SiouxVolley Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Zietek and Kaczorowska are starting the third set. Quote
SiouxVolley Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Griffin was in for a while. Its a route so far, 13-5 ISU in the third set. UND is completely off balance. Quote
SiouxVolley Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 25-18 , ISU wins 3-0 ISU really exploited the weakness in our wings this game. Dooley and Pioske were the only UND players that seemed to hit with accuracy. Every ISU player collected kills it seemed. Quote
Risky Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 How do they determine who hosts the conference tournament? There are 2 divisions with a #1 seed from each bracket. Quote
Dustin Posted October 15, 2014 Author Posted October 15, 2014 How do they determine who hosts the conference tournament? There are 2 divisions with a #1 seed from each bracket. When it comes the tournament, the divisions don't have anything to do with it. The top eight teams make the tournament, which is hosted by the school with the best overall conference record. Quote
mizzou/sioux Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 UND women's volleyballers rally from being down 6-5 in the fifth set to score the last 10 points in defeating Portland State 3-2 tonight. Quote
Teeder11 Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 It went both ways. I was there. PSU just lostt their composure in the fifth set. Quote
Stromer Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Refs handed this game to ous Nope. Refs seemed to be leaning towards PSU most of the 3rd and 4th sets. We finally got some breaks at the end. Great effort and composure to come back from the brink to win. Quote
Dustin Posted October 17, 2014 Author Posted October 17, 2014 Important win since that is the only game we have against Portland St. for the regular season. After the third set I thought "we shouldn't have lost", but after the fourth set I thought "we shouldn't have won!" I guess it all worked out. Nice way to close out the match with some domination. Quote
Smoggy Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 3 blocks and 2 kills for Dooley in last ten points. Wow talk about game changer. Something up with Robinson, because pulled for Fontes. Then any mistake by Fontes she would immediately come back. But then Fontes would always be back in. Haven't seen many road matches, but I don't like how often we have to do a bump set. I realize part of that is our setter covering on the backside and has to dig first hit. We just don't seem to get many powerful spikes from our outsides. Big crowd tonight. Surprised it was under 1500. Reffing was brutal on both sides. The floor umpire loved his net calls and many questionable. Also found it weird he overruled the line judge and said ball had been tipped during block when it's not what he's supposed to watch to my knowledge. Quote
Dustin Posted October 18, 2014 Author Posted October 18, 2014 Watching UNC game. Video is good, but no audio or scoreboard. We look to be playing pretty badly, but I have no idea what the score is! Quote
jdub27 Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Looks like UND lost the first two sets 25-20. Live stats here: http://www.sidearmstats.com/unco/wvball/ Quote
Dustin Posted October 18, 2014 Author Posted October 18, 2014 It appears the game is over. UNC sweep. Quote
SiouxVolley Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 UND has got to get better hitting from the wings. Fraase, the recruit from Shanley, may fit like a glove. Thought Pioske would have a big year, but that really hasn't materialized yet. Just a note that attendance is over 1000/match for this year, and with the season entering playoff mode, the attendance should only increase. The Thursday night games were normally well under a 1000, so that's nice to see. Six UND sports average over 1000 a game. Not many Division I schools can say that. Quote
No1siouxfan Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Anyone know what the forecast is for Northern Arizona, how do we matchup? I hope we can bring the energy right off the bat. Seems like once they start to show some emotion, get excited, everyone plays looser and things go well. Crowd needs to be ready to go from serve one. They really seem to feed off of a crowd getting into the match. Quote
Dustin Posted October 22, 2014 Author Posted October 22, 2014 I have season tickets, and I think the crowd is a little more docile this year. It might because the crowd is missing the big swings from last year. No Munkeby or Parlich, and Robinson and Pioske aren't providing much excitement this year. Dooley is good, but she doesn't swing with authority yet, hopefully that is coming. I'm not writing this season off, but I am excited for Fraase to be here next year. Quote
Oxbow6 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Will be bringing 6 13-14 year old VB playing girls to the match this Saturday. Looking forward to the match. Went to a couple last year and they were a blast. Quote
