darell1976 Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Not only a foot of snow or so, but 50mph wind gusts...yuck!!! Quote

Oxbow6 Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Maybe I won't be flying back from PHX into FAR tomorrow night. Quote
homer Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Delta has already cancelled a couple outbound flights from Fargo for tomorrow. Quote
nodak651 Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Maybe I won't be flying back from PHX into FAR tomorrow night. Maybe? LOL... enjoy Arizona for us, PLEASE. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Schools in the Fargo-Moorhead area have already cancelled, before the precipitation has even started. What's that mean? It's sure to be a dud. Quote
darell1976 Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 The longer it rains the lesser the snow amount will be. Quote
Oxbow6 Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Maybe? LOL... enjoy Arizona for us, PLEASE. Our plan B is to scalp opening day D-Back tickets tomorrow night. Quote

Well, southern valley is still just windy: no precipitation so far. I see this happening: Nothing until about 3 pm today, and then it cuts loose overnight so Fargo area schools cancelled for nothing on Monday and won't cancel on Tuesday (when they should because of poor roads). Takers? Quote
Oxbow6 Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Maybe I won't be flying back from PHX into FAR tomorrow night. Flight cancelled. Saying we "might" get out tomorrow from PHX. Quote

darell1976 Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Interstates now closed I-94 from Fargo to Bismarck, and I-29 from Fargo to Canada. Freezing rain here in Fargo, heavy snow just outside of the FM Metro. Quote
Oxbow6 Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 So FM schools closed today and didn't have to be but probably will need to be tomorrow with storm arriving late. And with all the models and technology how does one misforecast this storm arriving by 15+ hours? Quote

And with all the models and technology how does one misforecast this storm arriving by 15+ hours? Its not the first time a storm has taken its time getting here. But schools closed when there is a blizzard warning issued, to be on the side of caution. I think they should have waited until the storm is almost here to issue the warning. That would be like issuing a Tornado Warning or Severe T-storm Warning when its storming in Dickinson, and sunny in Fargo/Grand Forks. Quote

Redneksioux Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 So FM schools closed today and didn't have to be but probably will need to be tomorrow with storm arriving late. And with all the models and technology how does one misforecast this storm arriving by 15+ hours? I'd rather they issue warnings beforehand than after the fact like they did earlier this year for a blizzard. I almost found myself stuck on the highway outside of forks instead of watchin Sochi oshie! With that said it was blizzarding earlier today outside of Fargo. It started before noon around grand forks and even earlier further north or west. Quote
Redneksioux Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 They had a Snowthunder storm in Mayville today. I was taking a nap but my wife heard this too. We are 20 miles sw of grand forks. Quote
