Goon Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 The NCHC's Network for the 2013-14 season has no UND hockey games and or WCHA Hockey teams in their schedule. Quote
siouxczech29 Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Not looking good for Sioux nation. Quote
UND Alum Fan Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 I think everyone needs to start contacting CBSSports now and let them know we want UND and NCHC games? Does anyone have the contact information handy? Quote
Snake Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 I don't know who controls the content, but could it be possible the WCHA just said "thanks but no thanks" to CBS Sports when (if) they were approached about airing games? Quote
siouxkid12 Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 I believe this is for this years games, which have no bearing on us. We still have three (I think) games on the NBC network though. Quote

gfhockey Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Did i miss ssomething or when did cbs become notre dame sports network? I blame nchc for this crock of sheeet Quote
Snake Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Did i miss ssomething or when did cbs become notre dame sports network? I blame nchc for this crock of sheeet Last I checked WMU and Miami will be members of the NCHC and they're on the schedule. The NCHC and CBS Sports already have a solid relationship based on the upcoming contract for 2013/14. If there is any blame to go around it may lie with the WCHA. Quote
crb1 Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 I think CBS thought they were airing Football games. Quote
Goon Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 (edited) I recieved thi email from Dan Sabreen of CBS - "CBSSN does not have a deal with the WCHA." Edited September 25, 2012 by Goon Quote

The Friday night game at Omaha and the Friday night game at Denver are the only ones I remember, I hope there's another. Quote
82SiouxGuy Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Multiple WCHA schools have TV contracts in place that make their games available on sports networks available all over the country. I would guess that 1 or more of them would have a problem with the WCHA putting games, especially their games, on a national outlet. CBS Sports has no relationship with the WCHA. They have relationships with other schools and conferences. They have a contract with the NCHC for next year. But that has nothing to do with the WCHA, which is where UND will be playing this year. This thread is much ado about nothing. This isn't some big conspiracy. It is all about contracts. The WCHA doesn't have a national contract at least in part because several of the top schools already have a TV contract in place. It isn't often that you can have both available nationally. UND hockey games will be seen on Fox College Sports again this year. Minnesota, Denver and other games will also be available on sports networks. Enjoy all of the games that will be on TV. Quote

crb1 Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 For me this is a minimal impact but for exposure and other fellow sioux fans outside of midco footprint I would love to have seen them air some WCHA games. Quote
Cratter Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Quite confusing this with next year. This year you can, watch ever game home outside the midco foot print. Quote
MafiaMan Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 I for one love watching non-conference games of other teams that I normally don't get to see. Quote
Lobo Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 Do we have any ideas how much we will see UND on DirecTV this year compared to previous years given the new local TV contracts? This is one reason I got DirecTV. I know it was said the games will be available to be shown, it's just a matter if DirecTV will or not. Gotta decide if I am buying an online package for the games or not since they are on sale though Sunday! Thanks for any help! Quote
iceberg Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 all hockey games produced by Midco (home games) are on Fox College Sports this year (like previous years) Need the sports pack to get them Quote
