UNDvince97-01 Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Harris might have the hips and speed to play DB. Maybe even corner? 6'1" - 6'2" corners with long arms are rare. It's a longshot, but worth a shot. If he can, he should play in the secondary. If he lifts and eats himself out of the safety position, then he probably ends up at OLB.
homer Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Welcome to UND Deion. Moved to QB his senior year to help his team. His coach said WR and DB are his natural positions. Also had a a lot of good things to say about him as a person and things he's already been through as a kid.
geaux_sioux Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 He looks like a natural athlete. Very smooth, needs to add a lot of strength though.
Matt Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 They are great for bridging the gap or meeting an immediate need but they cannot be the foundation of the program long term. Bohl did the same thing in is first few years in Fargo. Some significant contributors were JUCO.
sioux24/7 Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 So is Harris an under the radar type guy beings he was QB all season even though he's naturally a WR? Edit: Nevermind SFI just tweeted it sounds like he is playing DB.

Edit: Nevermind SFI just tweeted it sounds like he is playing DB. Wow. That's some good size in the defensive backfield. Guess it is needed with some of the WR's in the Big Sky. Also like that he was counted on to switch from WR to QB to help out the team. Sounds like an all around athlete.
geaux_sioux Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 According to coach Meyers we got a commit 11hrs ago

geaux_sioux Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 I think he would too Has he contacted the football offices? If not he should call Cindy tomorrow.
Red Devils Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 He said that Coach Myer has contacted him
geaux_sioux Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 He said that Coach Myer has contacted him Good. I hope they give him a spot. Seems like a good kid and looks like he has some potential.
jdub27 Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 I believe, but can't confirm, that the new commit is defensive back Joe Montague out of Minnetonka High School. 5'11", 180lbs. Those who have been wanting to see some more physical play in the secondary will like his highlight tape.
sioux24/7 Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 It is funny how we are actually getting some commits now without a full staff.

I know UND has been working hard over the past number of years to establish some kind of connection with Minnetonka. Hopefully this is a start.

Also, What happened to Adam Stiner #2? He no longer shows up on the list of offeree's or committed elsewhere.

JohnboyND7 Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Is Stetson Carr planning to join the football team? Maybe he just wants to go to a real university? Mary is a real university. Anti-Catholic agenda?
Cratter Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Would you be happier if he said nationally ranked university? All hail the "holiday tree" ha
FB@Sioux Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Montague a DB out of Minnetonka, Mn, This kid is the newest recruit to commit to UND. It's been confirmed. I like his film, he's a physical DB. I'll be looking out to see what he can do. http://www.hudl.com/athlete/o/281882/highlights/96667375.

Not sure if I'll be here next month but this place is amazing and you should come."

Not sure if I'll be here next month but this place is amazing and you should come." My gut reaction is they want to be pilots, otherwise I'm with you I have no idea.
jdub27 Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 My gut reaction is they want to be pilots, otherwise I'm with you I have no idea. Montague's page says he's looking at Business. I'm guessing they are seeing a chance to play early. They were being recruited by the old staff, so I'm sure they are aware of the postiives of the school. Getting a chance to play D-1 football close to home as well.
FB@Sioux Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Good point...maybe there telling the recruits something we don't know?
