jodcon Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Going to be a different game tomorrow, the sting of blowing that 3-0 lead has got to be stuck in the craw of the Gophers, Sioux can't let them come out and hang a couple early goals on them or it could get ugly. Too bad BU got rattled and gave up that 5:00 PP to put them down 2, seemed like they might have been able to tie it up again with all the shots they were getting on Patterson. But...Sioux vs. Gophers to go to the FF...does it get any better than that? Quote

Did you think this was possible about three weeks ago? Especially getting a #1 seed? Awesome! Quote
Vegas_Sioux Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Union 3 UM-L 1 The fine wcha refs missed not only a head first boarding but contact to the head in the same hit Quote
SiouxScore Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Maine up on Duluth 1-0 mid 2nd, Duluth can't stay out of the box. Quote
as15 Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Maine up 2-0 on a very weird goal. Puck was in Maine's end and a Duluth player knocked the net off, play continued but the Duluth player's stopped skating because they anticipated a whistle, Maine goes on a breakaway and scores. Quote
bcblues Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Yeah, that was a shame. But they do teach players to play to the whistle from about age 8 on..... Quote
bcblues Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 At least duluth scored one and the game is definitely within reach. Quote
bcblues Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Did anyone hear what the attendance was for the Sioux game? Quote

bcblues Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Sheez, not many. I guess WM fan base doesn't travel much. Either that or a bunch of Sioux fans never made it out of the McGovers tent. Quote
Let'sGoHawks! Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Shepherd's crew just blew another call. Union guy was offsides by 3 feet on an empty net goal shot from center ice. Union going to Tampa! crazy stuff Quote
GFG Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Sheez, not many. I guess WM fan base doesn't travel much. Either that or a bunch of Sioux fans never made it out of the McGovers tent. I think the biggest problem is that the NCAA jacked up prices for the the St Paul regional. And single game tickets for that regional didn't get put on sale until yesterday at 11am. Duluth's second goal was just...I don't even know. A breakaway shot off the crossbar, puck bounces off the glass behind the net and goes into the air, drops in the crease and goes off the goalies skate and in. Quote

Union going to Tampa! crazy stuff Yeah they definitely had a shaky couple games from what I saw of them, but hey we all knew that already and now some other teams got to experience it. Quote

They did a horrible job all weekend, I'm glad someone else was blessed with their presence for a change. Quote
jodcon Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Looks like Duluth is going to finish off Maine, sets up 2 great games tomorrow. Quote
SiouxScore Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Duluth beats Maine 5-2. Frozen 4 will consist of at least 1 ECAC team chance of 2, at least 1 WCHA team chance of 2, 1 possible CCHA team, or 1 possible Hockey East team. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Wow are the boards terrible at the two eastern rinks. 14 to play in regulation and Cornell and Ferris tied at 1. Quote
Wilbur Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Ferris State leads Cornell 2-1 in the third period. Cornell blew a chance with a five minute major to Ferris, and Ferris scored right after the penalty expired. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Attendance at these regionals is embarrassing. There's nobody in GB for Corn/FSU. The eastern rinks are as bad or worse. And the X was not even completely full today. The sport and the teams deserve better. Quote
Shawn-O Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 They will probably give serious consideration to moving these back to The campuses after this Quote
brianvf Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 That Union/UMass game was not entertaining at all. Lots of mistakes and slow play. I can't believe how "easy" that side of the bracket is compared to the other side: Union/UMass/Ferris/Cornell vs UND/UMN/BC/UMD Wow. Quote
