Would a "request" campaign help (perhaps mid-week if no one has committed to pick it up), or is it pretty much a sure thing?

Nothing is a sure thing. Someone has always wanted to show the games in the region. I don't know if a "request campaign" would help or not. But I would be surprised if FSN or someone else didn't show the games in the Dakota's and Minnesota.

I hope this isn't another one of those deals where a guy has to scramble to find somewhere to watch the game. The year they beat Wisconsin in OT we were 20 miles out in the country at a friend's place that had a "unique" satellite package that carried ESPNU, I think it was. We called him while driving around listening to the first period. He said, "Hell, yeah, I got it on! Come on over!" Thank God.

I just watched the selection show after Church. A couple observations. I like Barry Melrose covering the NHL, but he doesn't know college hockey. The tip off was when he said we had to win to get in the tournament. Get someone who knows college hockey please.

I'm also laughing that we play Yale who's ranked 21st in the KRACH and has played the 40th hardest schedule.

For those of us that don't like seeing BC again in the tournament you have to admit they gave us a game we should win. (meaning Yale)

Yale lost Backman the aforementioned Ivy League POTY along with his 21 goals and then got bounced from the ECAC tourney in 3 games by Brown. They were not playing this weekend.

Yale is 2-0-1 (we're 5-8-2) against the tourney field having beaten Cornell twice and tied Wisconsin.

We've played 10 more games than they have (42 vs 32), so there are several ways to look at that: They have fresher legs, but we've been through more. COmpound that with them resting for two weeks vs us playing 6 games in 9 days.

I think that this full week off will take care of the fatigue, and if anything make us stronger down the stretch.

Yale has a strong powerplay at 23.5 percent. They take a lot of shots and score a lot of goals. They also have had golatending by committee and all their goalies have pretty mediocre save %s.

I don't know if they have played a puck possession team like us...

As someone else noted, they are quite small in stature for the most part. Our tall defensemen are going to need to be smart, Blood's elbows will be head high on a bunch of these guys.

We've got to play physical but smart...we did that for the most part this past weekend. Establish a physical presence, but stay out of the box.

Bottom line is that they can't match our depth. Sioux win 6-3.

I was wondering if I heard that right?...He did say that....At least he was smart enough to have the Sioux advancing to Detroit...

I'm much happier playing Yale in round 1 instead of Michigan. Michigan is playoff tested, Berenson is a jedi master at getting his troops to play their best. Yale has had about zero success in the NCAA's for years and years.

As to the second round, will worry about it when we get there. Just admit there's no easy games at that stage. (And we may not even play BC; Alaska is no slouches.)

According to the KRACH we have the third easiest first round team. Miami has Alabama Huntsville at 43. Denver has RIT at 37. Yale is sitting at 21.

The number one team in our bracket is actually playing a stronger team according to the KRACH. Alaska Fairbanks is 15.

No game is easy in a single elimination tournament, but we got a good draw.

When is the SiouxSports "pick 'em" tourny brackets coming out?

If anybody is interested in another Pick 'Em contest, PM me with your email address and I'll send you some information. I've run a pretty successful pool for the past few years, but wouldn't mind growing it a bit.

I'm happy to see we play Yale rather than Michigan. Michigan is always going to be tough. I'm surprised they matched up Miami and Michigan in the same bracket, but I'm fine with it. I like our road to the Championship this year!

I know Bemidji hasn't played well their past couple games, but I wouldn't chalk them up as losers to Michigan quite yet. That will likely be a great game to watch, as would a Bemidji = Miami rematch (if it happens).

The biggest thing in my mind that the Sioux will have to overcome is their seemingly year-in, year-out with BC. I realize Yale is first, but I hope Hak has something special up his sleeve if we wind up playing BC. GO SIOUX!! :p

All he needs is respectable goaltending and you guys will beat BC. Same as most of the other years.

I like UW, DU, UND and Miami. I true battle of the heavy weights. Similar to 2005.

UW and DU got good draws, Miami and UND will have to battle it out, but should prevail.

They won their conference (regular season) and tied Wisconsin and badly outshot them in a game in January so they are no slouch. At this time of year, you either show up to play the full 60 minutes or you go home.

They lost to Brown in a three game series and did not advance to the conference tournament won by Cornell.

Thanks for the update!

And honestly, what was the point of the selection show? They didn't seem to actually discuss any other teams than DU, WI, BC, and to some extent Miami. Also, I love me some Barry Melrose, but the man needs to get his facts in order.

We need to make a Lapoint against BC, if we draw first Blood we will let them know that we have not Gone-0-way! Then we can pull out our Trupp card and Frattin them into submittion as they feel the Eids of March crashing apon them!

Then we will take our place (m)alone on the victory podium and head to Detriot as the mighty Sioux that we are and celebrate our revenge against BC of a magnitude worthy of the Count of Monti-Kristo!
