With us laying an egg this weekend...sounds like it cost us a chance to be at Mariucci. Man I was hoping to go to those games. There will be no one in the seats at the Mariucci regional...you couldn't give those tix away.

Looks like this is the popular choice for UND.

Ouch. Playing the host team followed by a potential matchup against the #1 overall. Just ouch.

If they get out of that regional, I'd be shocked...

I am 95% sure this is the way it will play out...but that is the punishment for a horseshit weekend...playing UNH in Manchester....not good at all. Not too mention BU if we win a game. This weekend really hurt our seed.

Gloom and doom over on GPL for the Gophers. Hilarious that most fans I ran into this weekend STILL felt that they were a shoo-in for the NCAA tournament.

I hear ya...they got what they deserved...but unfortunately when the brackets come out tomorrow morning so are the Sioux. Going from home ice crowd at Mariucci to a hostile environment in Manchester against UNH.

16. UW

17. UMN

18. BC

That's insane. No Badgers, Gophers, or Eagles in the tourney.

Not that I'm complaining.

The last time no Gophers or Eagles in the tourney was the 1981-82 season...Buetow was coaching the mighty "M"s and Len Ceglarski was in charge of the Eagles...feels really good without any Maroon (other than UMD) in the tourney...that is, as long as there is no conspiracy to get BC or the Gofs in!!

True, but I'm fine with that. They might as well think it's the championship game from the get-go.

As amazing as the Sioux second half of the season was again this year, theirs was an even greater catastrophic failure, dropping from the very top of the heap to the bottom of the dung pile in under three months. Coaches get credit where it is due and I don't know where else you could pin a failure of this magnitude. I wonder if we will see a coaching change at UMTC.

They're vermin. Can't escape your DNA.

there shouldn't be any surprises with BU or NH. We know what to expect. Its NCAA tourney time, 1 and done, and every entrant is a threat.

I have to wonder if fatigue is affecting some of the freshmen...JG has been really quiet for the last few weeks.

Any latest and greatest on Watty?

Speaking of mustaches, did any of you see that pic of Chorney on the all wcha team in the F5 calendar? Can anyone say 70's pornstar?

I think the injury bug has caught up to the Sioux and in case you forgot that includes Gregoire who took a thunderous hit a couple of weeks back. We know what they are capable of but will they be able to field a healthy enough team to be effective next weekend.

Careful now. You seem like you've been hanging out with us in the land of 10,000 excuses. You guys haven't even played yet and the last time a beat up UND went out east they flogged both Jackie and Jerry.

Injuries happen when you have to play playoff hockey for three months straight, no excuse it's a fact and Hakstol implied as much with his post game comments this weekend. Conversely if you don't show up to play for 3 months straight I guess you can look forward to a happy and healthy early golf season.

Yikes. The idiotic changes to the RPI formula going to a 21/25/54 vs. 25/50/25 have bumped UW and SLU from the field, replacing them will be Miami and OSU. Unless they change the formula back I think you will see some start going with an all cupcake philosophy.

The Sioux had thier chance to avoid being stuck in the same in the spot they are in if they could of won one game this weekend. It's hard to complain too much when you could have proven you are better on the ice and don't. They had the chance to play close by, but lost it in not one but two games. Grand Rapids would have been a better fate and closer to home, but when you lose two games like this weekend you can't expect it to be easy from here on out.

What's pasted is pasted.

Now it's time to win four in a row no matter who The Sioux face.

Time to prove the WCHA is not down this year by sending only three teams.

Time to show who is really the best!

Perhaps the boys are only motivated by banners that we actually hang...

On a serious note, the change in RPI calculation weighting more heavily to winning percentage actually made a big difference this year. When 2/10,000 in RPI keeps Wisconsin out and puts OSU in.

Just think, losing a game in OT to a national powerhouse hurts your chances while destroying cupcake U helps.

The RPI change kept UW and St. Larry's on the bench. Miami and OSU were the beneficiaries. Soft schedules are going to continue to prevail over those with more difficult schedules when two teams are basically equal.

Some have been waiting to see what would happen due to this scenario. When a storied program such as WI beats UND to end the season, and plays a boatload of TUCs and misses the tournament due to the math track team's decision making. I haven't done the math yet for Minnesota, but they had to be right there too with the old RPI.

I think there will be some "discussions" about this in the summer meetings.
