  1. Speaking of... are they moving forward with their new hospital yet?

    UND-MVSU

Their QB, Chris Fowler, doesn't appear to be too bad. He had ten attempts vs NDSU and completed 6 of them, for 60% completion percentage (one int.) The other QB's combined for 1 completion in twelve attempts. I expect them to put up nearly 200 yards passing, as they did against Southern Illinois last year, and Chris again completed 60% of his passes.
  3. Field level bar in the works?

Think this is partially due to losing our setter?

  6. I think it would really help if there was a thermometer type deal on the front page of SS.com, showing the progress. I'm assuming there are probably a lot of people who visit the message boards that don't click on this thread. It would help with awareness, and those thermometer deals are popular at fundraisers for a reason. They work and encourage people to give. http://www.coolfundraisingideas.net/thermometer/ This is just one example, but if you google "online fundraising thermometer", there are tons of free websites that do this.
  7. Home opener last year was 12,047. Guessing it's down from there. Guessing 10,600.
  8. UND only has ONE woman coach?!!!!!! #unacceptable #boycott

I have tons of respect for Keaton, but he didn't throw screen passes all that well either. I think you're still right, though.

First clip is pretty funny. Corby Richman pancakes Rudolph haha. Didn't realize that he switched to fullback. Didn't he start last year one game or was he just on the two deep at one point? Just goes to show how thin we were last year at linebacker. And as much as I rip on Rudolph, he does seem like a pretty awesome person, would love to see him figure it out. Hopefully he just didn't trust Studsrud's arm and he can open it up this year.

And there it is... Figured someone would respond with this lazy argument. Why not contribute to the discussion by articulating why you think their strategy is wrong? Obviously everyone here was wrong last year, when they were criticizing Rudolph for starting Heidlebaugh in the Montana game, right? Oh wait.... Rudolph had to pull him, play Zimmerman the second half, and later switch Heidlebaugh to wide reciever! I wonder how Rudolph could have made that mistake when he, after all, is the Offensive Coordinator and understands personnel and scheme so much better than us simpletons... "The courtier's reply is an alleged type of logical fallacy, coined by American biologist PZ Myers, in which a respondent to criticism claims that the critic lacks sufficient knowledge, credentials, or training to pose any sort of criticism whatsoever.[1] It may be considered a form of argument from authority." "A key element of a courtier's reply, which distinguishes it from an otherwise valid response that incidentally points out the critic's lack of established authority on the topic, is that the respondent never shows how the work of these overlooked experts invalidates the arguments that were advanced by the critic."
  12. Totally agree. She makes it sound like it's a donation. THIS IS UND's MONEY - NOT HERS. “This significant figure marks our continued commitment to UND and the surrounding community,” Kris Engelstad McGarry, of the Engelstad Foundation, said in a statement. “This commitment has lasted for 60-plus years, stemming from my parents’ passion for UND and extending well in to our present-day efforts to support and enhance all that the university has to offer.”
  13. I'll take 4 tickets for the St. Paul Saints game on Friday. Where should I mail the money to?
  14. Ketteringham going 7-11 seems to be pretty decent, especially because it sounds like that was all on one drive? Thats 64%. 7 Sacks and 18 rushing yards in 9 carries is very scary.
  15. From UND football notes. Midco's show will debut Friday. Will cover the first two weeks and media day. And the D line is consistently putting pressure on our quarterbacks. https://fightinghawks.com/news/2018/8/14/football-fall-camp-notebook-vol-9.aspx
  16. If there is ever a new 2nd level that is officially formed, I think there is a good chance the 15k requirement gets dropped.

    2018 Season

Depth concerns. And teams have been known to beat better teams and lose to worse teams. Besides, we won't know for sure which of the two will be better until the end of the year!
  18. My gripe with Tom is this: Schlossman made a tweet that alluded to GFH changing their business model in a way that would be more in-line with the Star Tribune, which means that the GFH will likely become a paid service with a pay wall. Schlossman said that this would coincide with improved sports coverage. I tweeted to him that improved sports coverage would mean that the Herald gets a beat writer for college football, and Schlossman said that the Herald has one, in Tom Miller. I'll give Miller a pass if he is a columnist (which he is), but the Herald/Schlossman don't admit it. If they want to claim Miller is a beat writer, I think that the Herald should have the content to back that claim up. I think his articles are great for a columnist, but I'm not going to be paying a subscription to the Herald for the information that they are currently publishing. I also don't think he should get a pass for having a lack content (for being a columnist) when the Herald claims he's a beat writer. He's supposedly at every practice, and there was an article after the first two practices with his takeaways - what happened to the rest? Sorry about the rant. I'll stop.
  19. For the record, and anyone's reading pleasure, August football articles from Tom. 2018 Season

    The closer we get to this season, the more optimistic I have become. Official prediction: 8 - 3 Mississippi Valley State - W Washington - L Sam Houston - W Idaho State - W Northern Colorado - W Montana - W Sacramento - W Weber - W Idaho - L Portland State - W Northern Arizona - L
  22. I really don't get what Tom Miller does every day. He writes very short, surface-level, articles. The Herald would be better off by hiring a few interns that have some fire in their belly. If anyone ever asks him questions on Twitter or anywhere else, his answer is almost always "I haven't had a chance to look into that yet".
