I'm not saying the Summit starts football NOW, but it should at least be on their radar. It wouldn't hurt the conference to plan for the future strategically, while at the same time waiting to see how things play out. For instance, if the Summit can improve in basketball over the next 5-10 years, and the MVC starts to slip, maybe the Summit, with a successful basketball tournament and the leverage from football, can entice a few of the MVC schools to come over with football. Going from a one bid league to a one big league wouldn't be the craziest thing in the world. A perfect scenario for this would be if the G5 ever splits, and the top of the FCS has a chance to "move up", then football would have a bigger influence in MVC athletic departments than it currently does. If it goes as you say, and the MVC poaches Summit schools, maybe the Dakotas finally get an invite to the Valley. If not all of the Dakotas, probably for sure NDSU. Win-win for you!

The Summit should play 3d chess, and find a way to use football as a wedge to break apart the MVFC (public/private) within the next 10 - 20 years. The MVC isn't what it used to be, and it will likely be just another one bid basketball league going forward.

Also, why is Wynne bringing up the contract with the Ralph? Wasn't the latest one a two or three year agreement? Is it already time for a new one?

Joke was on UND for having a half assed contract with Kennedy.... It wasn't his fault that it was so easy for him to use UND as a stepping stone. In the meantime, UND is way better positioned for the future and growth than when he first arrived on campus. Thanks Kennedy.

Yes, and the new STEM building or renovation will probably look great, too. It's really great for those who want PhaseII, that for UND to get their new STEM facility, UND Athletics needs a new home. I think this will ensure that it actually does get built, unlike the retractable roof football stadium.

Brainstorming here.... and I don't know ANYTHING about airlines or flight operations, but... Is there any way that UND's aviation department could set up a direct flight to Denver? It could be in partnership with one of the airlines that they are currently working with... could provide students an opportunity to get real world airport management experience. Universities are partnered with businesses for different endeavors all over the country. If this can by done with hospitals, why not with aviation? GFK, Grand Forks, UND, and the airline would all benefit, and all or some of these could help to split potential losses. Would be a huge feather in the cap to UND's aviation program, and it would be a way to truly set UND apart from some of it's competition.

Someone should set up a new thread that only Sioux Volley and Lakes can post in. Would be mildly entertaining to watch them go at it back and forth. Pretty sure lakes also pretends that he doesn't know who Sioux Volley is though...

I don't think that's really fair. All of the QB's have been around the program for a long time now, and there have been open QB battles for the last couple seasons now. If one of the other quarterbacks are truly better, they haven't really made it obvious, according to most of the camp/practice reports that I have seen.

This is a great article about Quinn that was written last November. 4th on team in tackles while also rushing for almost 1000 yards, and he can also long snap. I don't really see anything that's not doable within the next 15-20 years. Can never plan too far ahead. Not really a fan of the athlete housing deal at the site of memorial stadium though. Would like to see them connect it to the other side of the HPC, if they aren't going to add windows on the East side. Edit: A couple facts of note - that big building South of the HPC in the above pic isn't in the athletic departments 2018 master plan, and I don't see the softball field on there either. It's supposed to be frat houses on the 2018 UND masater plan, but plans can change.
