So who all is going to try to make it out there and report back to us this year?
-
Not sure the plans. But it shouldn't, IMO. That park (and only that park) is a vital gathering space.
-
Another Santiago interview from Feb 12th, he said it was March 27th at UND for sure. Guessing they were trying to schedule the day before NDSU's which is the 28th. Plans must have fell through unfortunately.

It's other peoples money! At least hockey does have the potential to be profitable. Penn State has booked a profit every year since their programs inception http://www.statecollege.com/news/local-news/penn-state-hockey-with-five-years-at-pegula-on-the-books-program-continues-to-turn-profit,1479245/. Don't know much about Champaign, but it seems like the arena complex will be good for downtown, and the general community will benefit from 2 additional ice sheets and a hotel and anything else that is included in the plans. That said, I don't have any idea how much money taxpayers would be pumping into this. I think probably have a similar line of thought when it comes to funding projects like this with taxpayer money.

100% chance they announce it this spring, IMO. With the amount of work they have put into the new arena project and the outspokenness of their AD or President since the NHL sponsored study, I can't see this not happening. And the more teams the better. Tons of parity in college hockey, and maybe more teams can help UND separate themselves from the pack again, as talent gets diluted across more teams.
-
He's done well considering the state cuts UND's funding by 10% every chance they get... Not defending this, though.
-
I've been a Kennedy supporter, but I'm tempted to call him the r word for thinking this is a good idea.

WTF... What makes her so special?

Say the mall did close, what do you guys think happens to the property and how does that change the shopping market in GF? Property gets re developed into apartments? Does downtown see more shops open as a result? More new strip malls?
-
Maybe the state of ND can endow a womens hockey team then. And mens baseball, so the increased womens scholarships and expenses (from the elimination of w hockey) doesn't cause title 9 trouble. Not gonna happen.
-
Didn't read because of this.

UND, SDSU, and NDSU all also have higher ticket sales than every team in the MAC and Sun Belt. Still think those conferences should be FCS, rather than us move up to FBS, but a new level/division is badly needed.

Hopefully he is still deciding.

Height is way overrated. Manziel was 6 feet tall for christ sake. R Wilson 5'11 Brees 6' Vick 6' Flutie 5'9" If you can play, you can play!

2018 Exp $4,402,013 Rev $5,713,722 Ban Milo and bring back Moser! He's not posting in good fath.... pretending to be a und fan and then making up fake numbers.
-
You think the same about the Ashland coaches? They should have known their QB was looking elseware!
-
Could potentially use the money budgeted for the buyout of the women's hockey coach and roll it over to the basketball coach for the new year.

How bad are the roads up there? Anyone gonna be able to make it to the Betty? -
With how important kickers are, it baffles me that teams typically don't offer kickers scholarships. They win and lose games. I think he will do well with Freund. Have a feeling that there will be a lot of short passes, and his accuracy will be great for that, despite not appearing to have the best arm strength. He can't be any worse than the QB's we've had all through D1 (besides the North Carolina guy). I mean our QB's haven't even been able to consistently throw screen passes on target.

Not sure. But there is the signing day party at the Ralph this evening.

Really not a whole lot of time to work with to be fair. That Nebraska kid screwed us for holding a spot for so long.

TIL hockey costs 16 million dollars a year. LOL
