  1. NDSU football is good now. Obviously. That is why their attendance is up. And why their games sold out within 3 hours. It should be expected when you are back to back National Champions. But remember there was a time not too long ago where the Fargodome was 75% full at best. With success comes more interest in the program and greater attendance. If UND can succeed, the seats will begin to fill and games at the Alerus will sell out. In the same way, if NDSU football takes a skid then their attendance will be affected. There are a lot of fair weather fans in both fan bases.Just the way it is.

  3. 24th is a Sunday. Hopefully it will be more lively than the Sunday crowd last year in the dome. Having it in the Betty will help.
  4. I am wonder ifwe will get some numbers to how todays sales went. Hopefully a high number!!
  5. That team came out of nowhere to win it all. Wasn't a team full of superstars. Just a great team that gelled and worked hard together. The team with the best players sometimes doesn't finish on top. As Sioux hockey fans, we are all to aware of that. This year could be a different team where it is not relying so much on a few top end players, but a team that realys on every single player and plays great hockey as a team. Much like 1997 and 2000.
  6. Ummm.....ok!!! But then again you are probably right. I am sure the Patriots and the Alabama football team are loving all this publicity they are having right now!! Wow..you truly are an idiot. Thanks you for putting us all in our place. You go girl!!
  7. The "North Dakota Sioux" won't lose a game this year!! I can gaurantee that!!
  8. Anyone know if they are still selling seats?
  9. I may have to get over there and maybe get a small piece of concrete as a keepsake. May have to be sneaky to get inside the orange fences!!
  10. I wonder if they will purposely be late for some deliveries just to give new season ticket holders a great deal this fitst year. If you make the customer happy on their first visit, they will most likely come back. Giving someone free tickets for a season will most likely result in them renewing their tickets for next year and beyond. Albrecht kind of hinted at it when he said that "if we get swamped with orders it will be difficult to get tickets to everyone. We could be giving some away or a lot away depending on how many orders we get." UND would be smart to give some tickets away to some first time season ticket holders.
  11. So...ticket sales...heard they are going good!!!
  12. So do we get buyouts from Wyoming, Utah, Washington, etc. if they decide to play only teams in the new division??
  13. Still might happen. BSC at an odd number currently. Fullerton is probably waiting them out and holding the spot!
  14. http://sioux-jersey.com/ Very cool site.
  15. Nothing got the old Ralph louder when they played that song. It was everyones cue to go crazy!! I agree...bring that back. "You're in the jungle baby, you're gonna die!!!"
  16. Those look good. What about green? Weren't they saying that they would get new green opnes as well? Then they would have the option of mix and matching green/white/black for pants and jersey? Curios to see what a green version would look like.
  17. Yeah...we don't want to be as lame as Central was!!
  18. Look at the rest of the FCS teams (heck even FBS) and look at the opponents. The spread on most of the week one games is going to be in the 20's or even more. It's just reality in college football. Book a cupcake for your first game. College teams have been doing it for years. Will do it in the future too. After the past 5 years of D2 and NAIA teams coming to the Alerus, this is one of the best home schedules we have had in a long time...if not ever!! Ranked teams, old rivals, and new rivals coming to the Al. Don't worry, after Valpo, it gets a heck of a lot more ecviting!
  19. Week one you are usually playing a cubcake, or you are the cupcake. This isn't new to college football. This first game will allow us to see the starters for most of the first half and then be able to get the backups some significant playing time. We will most likely see all 3 QB's against Valpo. This is a good thing. No wins are gauranteed, as we know, but getting a W in the win column righ off the bat is always a good thing.
  20. D - A - K - O - T - A Dakota, Dakota, Go Sioux!!!!!

  22. I wish the student section could get back to the days of when the Alerus first opened. Those first couple of years were unbelievable!! A lot of it could be attributed to team success I suppose, but still would be nice to get that type of excitement about football around here. One tradition that should be at every school is supporting your athletic teams, especially football. It's the fall and the students are all back. They should be excited to watch some UND sports. Getting back to traditions, standing up and yelling on third down has been one of the ones that has been around for awhile. I am hoping that an increase in students at the game will create more traditions. First step, getting students to show up.
  23. Cue the "Football attendance" thread to start up again and how we can increase attendancethis season!!!
  24. Here's my idea. Play the school song right after we score the goal. Drop the puck at center ice and after the next stoppage of play, crank up the Chelsea Dagger. At the next stoppage of play, Looker can do the "Here's your University of North Dakota scoooooooooring!" This way lets you celebrate the goal 3 times and keeps the momentum going after each goal.
  25. Alex emailed me back on Monday saying he put me on the list...so I may be #3 or better!!
