Turning away people at the Betty for a UND basketball game....Now that's a problem that I definitely want to have!!!!

As long as the Big Sky Tournament is on the weekend before selection Sunday, it will always be the same weekend as the first round of the conference tournaments. I can't remember what the NCHC playoff format will be, but I assume that it will be a 3 game series for the first round and 4 teams advance to Minneapolis. The optimal place would be to have the tournament at the Ralph, but that would conflict with the first round hockey games (assuming we host, which is a very good chance year in and year out. So I don't see how they can have it at the Ralph due to hockey potentially being in town. I don't see it being at the Betty either due to the same issue. Parking would be a nightmare. So the only logical place would be to have it at the Alerus. Not the most optimal place, but probably the only option. A good problem to have if you ask me!!

Whoa.....wait a minute. 2012-2013 season isn't over yet! We still got 2 big games left then the Big Sky Tournament!! Hold off on all the "next year" talk. We can win now!!!

I am hopeful that having 4 straight home games, all before October, will boost our attendance. Should be great weather for tailgating. Plus with familiar teams like SDSU, Montana, and Montana St., that should peak the interest of even the casual fan.

UND has fans that travel well.......for hockey. Can't even get people to travel to the west end of town to the Alerus to watch a HOME game!!

I think even Bison fans would agree that the most likely replacement if Creighton were to leave the Valley would be Oakland. Sure they just left the Summit for the Southland, but I think that their basketball program is more attractive to the Valley than anyone else, including NDSU.

By far the best Through These Doors to date. These guys play hard for each other and they play hard for the fans that support them. Makes you proud to be a fan of this team. So glad that I was born in this town to be able to watch and cheer for this team throughout the years!! Bleed Green!!!!

Wasn't meaning to turn the thread political. Mostly just making the point that this is not something new in regards to the media. If the Herald wants to get stories with UND officials, coaches, players, etc they have to remain on their side with issues involving them. I have never really been a big fan of Tom Miller, but his latest response with the Ralson suspension confirmed it. Either you are going to be objective of the establishment or not. Tome obviously doesn't have the balls to be objective and say anything bad about the University, teams, players, coaches, etc. Major props to Paul Ralston for having the courage to call out Jones. I think most people are on his side!

Just like the national media is objective and holds the establishment (Obama) accountable!! This isn't a new thing for media these days, unfortunately.

I have always wondered why UND doesn't have a gameday app that flashes colors during intros when it is dark. I know that NDSU has one for football games that flashes yellow and green, and it is very impressive. Hopefully this is the start of having that for all games in the future!

I think the teams goal this year is to make it to the Big Sky Championship game. After that anything can happen. The team has made babck to back conference tournament Championship runs the last two years. All be it the Great West Conference, but it seems we play our best basketball in March. Hopefully that trend continues.

Side note, your basketball stadium rocks!! Probably one of the best mid major stadiums I can think of. Definitely tops in the Big Sky. Now that I have talked up you awesome stadium...I hope UND cuts down the nets there this March!!

Nope. They were scared to play NDSU and GT is in the right by holding a grudge against them and every other Big Sky team!!

Not sure why everyone was getting all excited because Nodak Nation tweeted there is going to be a big announcement coming up! Always take the source into consideration.

In the 24 hour news cycle, social media, internet news world, stories like this can go viral pretty quick. So can a story about Kim Kardasian being pregnant. My point is the fact that a story is being talked about nationwide on blogs, message boards, and anywhere else on the internet does not automatically qualify as a HUGE breaking news story. These kids made a stupid mistake and rightfully should be punished. But that is what it simply is. These kids are not active members in the KKK and were looking to start trouble or harass any African American people at the Ralph or playing in the game. I know I am just assuming, but I think we can all agree that was the case. That is what kids their age do, make stupid mistakes. The appropriate punishment will most likely be suspension and a letter of apology to the appropriate parties.

And can you please give me some examples of how a parents social status has determined the severity of punishment for a Red River High School student? You see there are these things called facts and evidence that us logical people use to prove their argument. Here's your chance!!

You honestly believe that the administration takes into account the social status of a students parents when handing out punishments? Really?? You really think that the administration at Red River High School is so corrupt that students with rich parents can be bought off for doing something wrong while kids who's parents aren't as well off are punished worse?!! Really??!!! I would love to hear some examples of this since "punishments have always been handled differently at Red River based on social status and who the parents are."

Sure, some are well off, but come on...why make a statement like that to just make you sound like a moron. You know that trailer park next to Red River??
