An empty seat on homecoming may may be a seat that was sold to a season ticket holder who chose not to come. But that enpty seat could be an unsold seat if that season ticket holder does not renew their tickets next year. The demand right now for tickets to UND football is already low. If we go 3-8 this year and keep Muss, the demand will be EXTREMELY low.

Right now, can we look at any game and say with confidence that it is a winnable game? The way we are looking now, I don't see us getting to the4 win mark!! 3-8 with 2, potentially 3 blowouts at home...that alone is reason enough for Faison to send Muss packing.

In two consecutive blowouts how much have we seen of PJ Sparks? the kid is atheletic and has good spped and the ability to break tackles. Why doens't Muss get him in the game??!! At the very least he should be in the game in a blowout....but in reality, he should be starting!! Not to rip on Miller, but he just doesn;t have the size and toughness to be successful against top tier defenses like we have been seeing lately. It is decision like this that prove that Muss is just clueless on what needs to be done to put a competitve team on the field.

It's always darkest before the dawn. Right now it couldn't get any darker for this program. Firing Muss is step one in getting things to brighten up around here.

Ok, we get it. You think FCS is "Tier II" and that they don't win Championships at the highest level and that you like calling NDSU ""University of Agriculture and Applied Science." We all know your opinion of NDSU. But do you have to reference it every time and in every post you make? It's pretty annoying. If takes away from any point you are trying to make when you do stuff like that. Pretty immature if you ask me. Why don't you try to make posts that are incitefull and add to the discussion instead of doing what you do know which is consistently embarass yourself with disparaging remarks.

That's my point. Since the W. Mich playoff game in 2012, we have not had anything on our helmets. Hoping we will this year.

I guess with 2 loses in the last 2 years and 2 Championships to boot, Bison football fans need something to complain about!! What's next, complaining that the championship banner at the Fargodome is getting to cluttered all the years they kepp having to put on it?!!!

So we just get blown out at home in probably the worst home loss in decades and everyone is calling for the coaches head and ESPN College Gameday is going to Fargo to talk about the two time defending FCS National Championship NDSU Bison. The gap between the two programs could not be further apart!!

If you thought this thread was getting a lot of traffic now....Wait till after the Homecoming game after our 3 consecutive blowout loss at home!! I will try to stay possitive, but realistically, that is not out of the question.

I have given Muss the benifit of the doubt up until now, but Saturday may have been my breaking point. Look at our record against D1 teams in his tenure and the number of ranked teams we have beaten and compare that to other FCS programs around th country. Being a head coach is not just about getting guys you have ready for the game. It's getting the right guys to commit and getting the right assistants to coach these guys to execute on the field. When your signature win as a coach is a game where you were outplayed for 3 quarters and came back against South Dakota, that doesn't really impress to many people. Like Matt said...this is going to be the schedule year in and year out with UND playing several top 10 teams. If Muss can't get it done, I hope Faison is not afraid to replace Muss before his contract is up.

I caught Muss talking to Tim and Swig this morning. A couple of things he said troubled me. They asked him what the schedule was for the team since they had no game this coming week. He said they would have practice today, Tuesday and Wednesday…then would have no practice Thursday and Friday and was giving the team the weekend off. After getting absolutely pounded on Saturday, I think that maybe working the guys a little hard this week would probably be a good idea. I get that they need some time off after a tough week, but with no game this Saturday, they should have plenty of rest this weekend. Don’t understand the 2 days off this week. Second, I think Tim asked Muss when they start planning for Montana St. He said they will start looking at film “later this week.” Maybe it was the ho hum, relaxed way he said it, but with the ways things went Saturday, I would hope he would have said that he was already looking at tape after Saturdays game and is diligently preparing for a tough opponent. On many occasions Muss has been out coached on the field. You would think with an extra week, he would try to gain some sort of advantage with two weeks to prepare for a team. Maybe he is preparing like crazy and is working the guys hard at proactive. But the way he comes off, and the way the team performs on the field versus tough competition, I just don’t see the urgency to get these guys prepared. I get it that we have a tough schedule. But we can’t use that as excuse to get outplayed. At least be competitive. We are playing with the big boys now. And I just don’t thing Muss and his staff have what it takes. Hopefully they prove me wrong.

As much as I hate to admit it, the Montana game may be just a preview of what we will see in the next two weeks. Montana State and E. Washington are even better teams. If we see two more blowouts like we saw on Saturday, the seat Muss will be on will be hotter than its ever been. I think Muss and his group of former players are getting out coached and this season will prove it. He is way out of his league. In my opinion, they need to start fresh and spend some money and hire a coach with FCS experience. We need to change the face of this program with new coaches and a new philosophy. With a new staff and a new practice facility, the program could really turn around. I am still optimistic about this season, but I am not looking forward to these next two games.
