In the 24 hour news cycle, social media, internet news world, stories like this can go viral pretty quick. So can a story about Kim Kardasian being pregnant. My point is the fact that a story is being talked about nationwide on blogs, message boards, and anywhere else on the internet does not automatically qualify as a HUGE breaking news story. These kids made a stupid mistake and rightfully should be punished. But that is what it simply is. These kids are not active members in the KKK and were looking to start trouble or harass any African American people at the Ralph or playing in the game. I know I am just assuming, but I think we can all agree that was the case. That is what kids their age do, make stupid mistakes. The appropriate punishment will most likely be suspension and a letter of apology to the appropriate parties.

And can you please give me some examples of how a parents social status has determined the severity of punishment for a Red River High School student? You see there are these things called facts and evidence that us logical people use to prove their argument. Here's your chance!!

You honestly believe that the administration takes into account the social status of a students parents when handing out punishments? Really?? You really think that the administration at Red River High School is so corrupt that students with rich parents can be bought off for doing something wrong while kids who's parents aren't as well off are punished worse?!! It was reported that theses 3 kids were freshmen. So that makes them 14-15 years old. I am not making excuses for them at all, but they are definitely ignorant 14-15 year old kids. They may not no better. Now you can blame that on their parents, their teachers, whoever. But they definitely need to get educated on the subject, which they will certainly do now. The incident was pretty pathetic. But really to label the entire Red River Student body, fans, their alumni, or even the city of Grand Forks as people who would tolerate this kind of activity is taking it to far. These were 3 kids who did something very stupid. they are young ignorant kids who thought they were going to be funny. The fact that fellow students were the ones that forced them to take the hoods off isn't getting enough recognition. Instead of labeling the entire student body of Red River as racists, they should be commended for doing the right thing and forcing their peers who made horrible judgement to take off the hoods.

I'll give you partial credit given that Kotelnicki was the obvious choice!!

Mankato is finally putting a good season together where it looks like they will make the playoffs. That only took 17 years!! Good luck Penn State!!

I am sure it wasn't just a coincidence that UND and Denver only play 2 games next year. Everything done for a reason. Your theory might be right.

UNO was the only "rival" that would work for UND. You are obviously going to put the Denver schools together. And Miami and Western Mich is a no brainer as well. With the schools left, I suppose they figured they would keep the Minnesota schools together. So that leaves us UNO. After traveling to Omaha 2 weeks ago, it is a pretty good road trip. I think it will be a good rival. I would hope they are going to balance the schedul out so we would rotate evenly the teams we don't play twice. Which would mean the next time we don't play Denver twice would be in 2016-2017. And the series will probably be in GF. If they do it right, the next time we don't see Denver in GF would not be till the 2019-2020 season. I like the fact that the league allowed for several OOC games. Gives a chance to play Minnesota, Wisconsin, and another local Minnesota school like Bemidgi or Mankato. It sucks not playing the Gophers and Badgers twice every year at home. But it is not like we will never see them again at the Ralph.

Our remaining conference schedule is: @ Portland St. @ Eastern Washington Southern Utah at home If we win 2 of those games, we are in the conference tournament for sure. ! and we may still get in based on what everyone else does. Considering that 2 of the games are against bottom feeders, I am liking our chances. Of course anything can happen. Our road play has deffinitely improves drastically this year. Lets just win out the regular season and stay hot into the tourney.

With all the scheduling issues that both schools have had with teams backing out (especially NDSU) you would think that Faison and GT would both benefit from scheduling each other every other year. There is ZERO chance that either school would ever back out. Don't you think it would be nice to have a guaranteed OOC team on the schedule that you know is not going to back out? I guess maybe that's to easy!

Wait...what??? The Alerus Center is not packed to capacity for UND football games?!! This is all new information to us!!! Thanks for informing us of something that we already know. Do you ever get tired of talking smack on a Sioux sports message board and having people hate you all the time and despising every comment you make? I am all for fans of other teams coming on here for a good debate. But making the same smack talk statements get a bit old. Don't you think?

Bottm line is Bruce Mcleod is going to have to make a decision after the first Final 5 in Minneapolis draws an average of 2000 people a game. Renting the X is not cheap and he will find out very quickly that the X simply is too expensive and not the right venue for the Final 5. There are plenty of other venues in Wisconsin, like in Milwaukee and Green Bay that host hockey games on a regular basis that would be not only smaller venues to create a better atmosphere, but will be geographically better for the majority of WCHA schools.

If NDSU were in the same bind and only had 5 home games and had a chance to buy out of a game to pay someone to come play in Fargo, GT would do it in a heartbeat. MSU was in a bind and this was their best option. IF GT wants to hold a grudge against them, that's his decision. But it is just part of being in FCS football.

Based on how long GT and the NDSU athletic department holds grudges, They will likely not play Montana State ever again!!
